About this apartment rental
On the hillside of Cernobbio, a historic building dating back to 1608—formerly a convent—has been beautifully renovated and divided into two independent apartments. La Badessa, one of the apartments, is a beautifully situated lake-view retreat spread over two floors, connected by an outdoor staircase, offering an ideal balance of shared space and privacy for families or groups traveling together. The town of Cernobbio, with its ferry landing and Villa d’Este, as well as Villa Erba, is only a 4-minute drive away.
The lower floor features two elegant bedrooms with queen-size beds. One bedroom has an en suite bathroom, while the second bedroom shares a full bathroom right next door. The floor includes a tastefully designed living room with a working fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a terrace just off the kitchen where guests can enjoy sweeping views of the lake.
The upper floor, accessed via an exterior staircase, includes a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a full bathroom, and a small room with bunk beds—perfect for children or additional guests. The bright, open-plan living area faces the lake and features a dining area and a comfortable living room. Just outside, a beautiful balcony offers breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
With its refined interiors, stunning scenery, and peaceful setting, La Badessa offers a sophisticated and relaxing retreat overlooking the lake.
The property features air conditioning, a Bluetooth home sound system, Wi-Fi, and on-site parking.
The stunning views from every corner of the house are due to its location on the hillside of Cernobbio. The final 30 meters of the access road to the house are steep and narrow in one section. If you’re coming by car, we highly recommend renting an automatic vehicle for ease, especially if you’re not comfortable driving a manual.
Other things to keep in mind
-As of June 1, 2023, a tourist tax of €3 per person per night for all guests over the age of 12 must be paid upon arrival for the first 7 nights of the reservation. This applies from January 1 through December 31.
