Large, well equipped kitchen with dining table. Easy-to-use microwave, induction hob, new oven. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher (but not enough plates etc to use it). Very tasteful cream-coloured country style, looks lovely with all the dark wood beams in walls and ceilings. Large desk in TV room at bottom of stairs - big enough to do a 1000-piece puzzle! Excellent high-resolution TV set with a good choice of programmes. Cosy electric fire in sitting room as well as central heating everywhere. Lots of electric sockets in all rooms. Surprisingly large library in the sitting room with both fiction and non-fiction, including local interest books. Masses of storage space, suitable for a long stay. This clearly used to be someone's home. Attention to detail - the owner had provided a long shoe horn, a shopping bag in a cupboard near the front door, a pint of milk in the fridge, a pack of chocolate biscuits etc. There were tea bags and instant coffee, but also a French press and a Nespresso machine.

No hairdryer No wardrobe in single bedroom (didn't affect me) Not enough cutlery and crockery to use the dishwasher (only 4 of most items) Very low water pressure in the shower Dustbin already very full - evidently nobody was there to put it out on the right day. The TV had a running audio commentary which I couldn't turn off because the settings menu was in a foreign language, possibly Latvian or Lithuanian. Stairs very narrow, as well as low overhead, in the bend near the top. The toilet seat in the bedroom ensuite keeps slipping and needs tightening up. The downstairs toilet has no brush.
