Host is warm. Takes care of everything like a family.. room is so beautiful and the view. We took lake safari and saw elephants in natural habitat near the lake .. they also helped us swim in the lake.. so many birds around .. paradise for birders

We absolutely loved our stay at Sunrise Lake Resort. The location is simply stunning, right on the edge of the lake with spectacular sunrise views and an atmosphere of complete peace and tranquility. The food deserves a special mention. Both dinner and breakfast were among the best we had in Sri Lanka. Everything was freshly cooked, delicious, and served with genuine hospitality that made us feel at home. The lake safari was the highlight of our trip. Gliding across the lake surrounded by birds and untouched nature was incredible, and we were lucky enough to see wild elephants from the boat at a very close but safe distance. Watching the sunset over the water made the whole experience unforgettable. The rooms are modern, spotless, and very comfortable, and the staff go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. If you're looking for an authentic nature retreat with amazing food and unforgettable wildlife experiences, this is the perfect place. We can't wait to come back!

Our stay at Sunrise Lake Resort was absolutely unforgettable. The peaceful lakeside setting, breathtaking sunrise, and calm atmosphere made it one of the most relaxing places we visited in Sri Lanka. The breakfast and dinner were exceptional. Every meal was freshly prepared with authentic Sri Lankan flavors, generous portions, and great attention to detail. Dining by the lake while listening to the birds was an experience in itself. The highlight of our stay was the lake safari. Cruising across the calm waters of Parakrama Samudraya while watching hundreds of birds was amazing, and seeing wild elephants along the shoreline in their natural habitat was simply unforgettable. The sunset over the lake made the experience even more magical. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you love nature, wildlife, and peaceful surroundings, this is the perfect place to stay in Polonnaruwa. Highly recommended—we would definitely return!
