THIS REVIEW WAS SOLICITED Like a big mansion in the jungle, this place has so much potential! Clean, quiet, off the main road — about a 900m leisurely walk to town. The AC was cold and reliable, bathroom spotless, and there were many terraces for drinks, socialising or working a little bit / reading a book. Highly recommend the place.

There is no WiFi. I mention potential because like most places in Sri Lanka the hospitality basics are missing — no hello, no welcome, just “here’s my WhatsApp, send me a picture of your passport…” Two hosts were around, but the left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. I would have loved to book a safari through them but the pricing, availability and communication was convoluted and confusing. I also was unaware I initially booked a fan room — so when I settled into an AC room I just figured that’s what I booked — only to find the old “bait and switch” when paying that I needed to pay additional for AC. Again, lack of basic care “you’ve booked a fan room, here is a room with AC, however the price is R1000 extra.” I would have happily obliged. Little annoyances but when after I pay the last thing you say to me is “good review yeah?” 👍🏼

The Green Heritance was an amazing place to stay! The environment was beautiful, peaceful, and very relaxing. The staff/hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Habarana!
