Upon arrival, the apartment was not ready for guests. It was dirty, with rubbish and unwashed dishes left inside. After a long flight and journey, in extremely hot weather, we were deprived of the accommodation we had paid for during a significant part of the first day of our stay and were forced to spend approximately two hours waiting for the apartment to be cleaned. Instead of taking responsibility for the situation, the host instructed us to contact the cleaner ourselves and repeatedly shifted responsibility for resolving household and maintenance issues onto us. We paid for accommodation services, not for the obligation to organize cleaning services or resolve maintenance problems during our stay. The host never apologized for the unacceptable condition of the apartment or for the inconvenience caused. During our stay, we discovered numerous defects that significantly affected our ability to use the accommodation: a leaking shower; a faulty toilet cistern that leaks continuously and creates constant noise; a badly sagging mattress causing back pain and preventing proper rest; an extremely small shower cabin unsuitable for comfortable use; old, worn-out bed linen and towels. Furthermore, despite our Booking.com confirmation clearly stating that check-out is until 11:00 a.m., the host informed us that we were required to vacate the property by 10:00 a.m. The accommodation was neither clean, nor fully functional, nor ready for guests upon our arrival. It was materially different from what was advertised and paid for and failed to meet the standards reasonably expected by Booking.com guests. As a result, we lost a significant part of our paid accommodation time and were unable to enjoy the services for which we paid. Instead of spending our holiday resting, we were forced to spend our time dealing with problems that were entirely the host's responsibility. We therefore request that Booking.
