Hidden fees, watch out!

The host required a deposit of 250€, split in two transfers. On checkout, he insisted to meet in person and pressured us into giving a good review, before returning only part of the deposit. He deducted an (unexpected to us and never communicated before) additional cleaning fee of 50€ from the deposit, as well as other banking fees. He discussed with us for an hour, until we gave up and chalked up the money as a loss. There was no parking available. The host only gave intructions on how to enter the appartment after a video call to verify that I'm actually in front of the door. It's a real shame, because the appartment itself is actually quite nice. I got the initial review reverted via Booking to give an appropriate rating.

While the location is fantastic, the rest is abysmal

Location. It is in a prime position, the only positive thing.

The Check In process is an absolute mess. Took hours online, required photos of each guest including photos of 2 guests which were under 5 years old. The host would never give the check in instructions until we were at the door and he verified us via a video call that we were at the door. Couldn't tell you how many texts of where he questioned our intelligence. Also, be careful as he takes 2 part payments for taxes and the bond, and expect him to walk into your room before check out time to inspect the room's condition and jump on your phone and do his on review of the apartment. Was an overall terrible check in and check out experience. Shower is terrible, water hardly comes out and the tent to prevent water spilling is something from the 70's. Also, if you are 1.85m or above in height, be prepared to knock your head on the ceiling in multiple locations. Also, there is no secret car park spot, it is a lottery.

Suspicious place, no one answers the phone, only someone sends text messages, they want scans of do

Nothing. We chose another property that didn't scam us online for passport scans of four people for a 12-hour stay and a 250 euro deposit. Checking in online at La Dimora is very difficult, but you have to pay before check-in and pay a 250 euro deposit. And who's going to check if you've damaged anything since they do everything online? They'll write that something's damaged, and how can you prove you didn't damage it? Who's going to verify it? If they don't return your deposit, where can you complain? Beware of this place!

To me, they're scammers. Beware of this property. They wanted scans of four passports online and a €250 deposit, even though our stay was only supposed to be 12 hours! The information about submitting documents should have been posted on the Booking website before payment! This cost us €89. The fact that this property is suspicious is evident from the fact that when I called the number they provided, no one answered. Then, around the time we were supposed to arrive, someone called me four or five times from a private, unlisted number, but when I answered, they hung up. Probably to show the Booking people that they wanted to reach me. Beware of this property!

The host, he was on party and didn’t receive us. And most of all was impolite and such immature. That was unbelievable, i never had such bad experience. I don’t recommend that adress at all

Truly amazing experience

The host welcomed me close to the address to assist me with locals and parking! This experience made it soo much easier. He even (YMMV) assisted in carrying luggage from my car to the apartment. Area is just gorgeous. Close to restaurants, churches, cafes, museums, you name it. History surrounds you. Host was very helpful in recommending places to vist / restaurants. I was there for the Genoa Boat Show - an exiting short walk.

I have to say that this stay did not leave wanting for anything else. Immersed in local old Genoa, could not be better.

🤩🔟 ALLOGGIO STUPENDO IN CITTÀ MAGNIFICA 🥰🌈 GRAZIE 1000 GABRIELE per avermi fatto sentire a casa e per avermi accolto anche alla sera tardi facilitando le mie richieste 🙏🏻 Il palazzo è tipico di Genova ed è proprio a due passi dall'ACQUARIO con MOLTI PARCHEGGI nella zona, L'alloggio è MOLTO PULITO, curato nei dettagli con uno stile che colpisce l'occhio 🙂 , Io ero sola ma per le famiglie penso sia adatto anche con un bel GIOCO DA TAVOLA a disposizione 👌🏻 LETTO SUPER COMODO e nonostante la posizione centralissima, ambiente silenzioso e temperatura ideale 🔝 PICCOLO DIFETTO: la vista non è un granché..... ma è proprio una caratteristica del centro storico di Genova con le sue bellissime vie strette e colorate! Al check-out Gabriele non c'era ma mi ha dato pure un grande consiglio per assaggiare la focaccia 😋 SOGGIORNO TOP !!!

posto fatiscente ingresso sporchissimo buio pericoloso il proprietario dopo aver incassato la prenotazione non si fa’ trovare e vi obbliga a versare una cauzione di 190€ che si trattiene per un mese ricattandovi di non darvi il soggiorno brutta persona che si nascono dietro un telefono

L’alloggio si trova in una posizione estremamente centrale, in una delle zone più caratteristiche del centro storico di Genova, sicuramente uno dei principali punti di forza. L’appartamento nel complesso rispecchia le foto presenti sull’annuncio.

Il bagno è di dimensioni piuttosto contenute e privo di bidet. L’alloggio si trova al secondo piano ed è raggiungibile tramite rampe di scale abbastanza ripide: un aspetto da tenere in considerazione soprattutto per chi viaggia con bambini piccoli o passeggino, come nel nostro caso. È richiesta una cauzione (informazione presente nei dettagli dell’alloggio), ma che non viene segnalata in modo particolarmente evidente al momento della conferma della prenotazione. Considerando l’importo piuttosto rilevante, sarebbe auspicabile una maggiore chiarezza e visibilità di questo aspetto già in fase di prenotazione. Infine, dopo il check-out, è stata avanzata in modo velato una richiesta di lasciare una recensione con punteggio massimo, cosa che ho trovato poco appropriata e non del tutto professionale.

HOST GENTILE E PROFESSIONALE. CASA BELLA

OTTIMO SOGGIORNO. L’Host è stato molto gentile ad acccoglierci di persona anche a tarda notte. Casa arredata con molto stile, spaziosa e molto calda (soggiorno fatto a dicembre). Posizione perfetta per girare Genova. Metodo di check-in chiaro e agevole. Lo consiglio vivamente!

Okay per una notte, ma attenzione ad alcune cose

La location è immersa nel centro storico, breve passeggiata per arrivare al porto antico. L’appartamento è caldo, abbastanza accogliente e sicuramente tipico per la zona. Utili i poster con le indicazioni sulle cose da fare e vedere in zona.

Il palazzo sicuramente necessita di una ristrutturazione, abbastanzat fatiscente. Nell’appartamento bisogna fare attenzione perché alcune cose sono mezze rotte (maniglia della porta che si stacca, cordini improvvisati per tirare lo sciacquone, termosifone che gocciola... ) Questo preoccupa soprattutto perché - attenzione- è richiesta una cauzione di 250€. Questo è indicato da qualche parte, ma non ci era mai capitato con Booking. L’appartamento è okay per il prezzo per una notte, ma ero perplessa dai 10… Poi ho capito che l’host insiste per fare insieme la recensione al check out. Cosa che ho rifiutato e che ci ha messo assolutamente a disagio!
