In 2024, we followed our dream and relocated from England to the beautiful Scottish Highlands in search of peace, tranquillity, and a slower, more meaningful way of life. We found everything we were looking for – stunning landscapes, a warm community, and a place we are proud to call home. Bailem Lodge was born from our desire to share this special experience with others. We've created a cosy, welcoming space where guests can disconnect from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other. Whether you're here for adventure, rest, or simply to breathe in the Highland air, we invite you to experience the peace and charm that made us fall in love with this place.
Fort Augustus is a picturesque village nestled on the southern tip of the legendary Loch Ness – the perfect place to search for the elusive Nessie! Surrounded by stunning Highland scenery, the village offers a warm welcome and plenty to explore. Wander through charming local gift shops offering unique, handcrafted items. Enjoy a cosy café with a hot drink and a slice of cake, or savour fresh, locally sourced meals at one of the friendly, family-run and locally restaurants. Take a scenic stroll along the famous Caledonian Canal, watch boats navigate the historic locks, or enjoy one of the many walking routes through the surrounding hills and woodlands. There are also play areas nearby, making it great for families with children. A short drive away, you can visit the iconic Urquhart Castle, perched dramatically on the edge of Loch Ness.
