New Open "Upside Down-Shibuya"

I liked even with the small space, it was easy to have “rooms” divided where needed.

Limited space however it was known Japan homes are small.

We loved the location! There were the perfect amount of amenities—toiletries, towels, etc. Exceptional design and thoughtfulness to the space. Small space by American standards yet well-designed and perfect for our 3-person family. We loved the Upside Down!

One challenge(for my husband, since he is 6’ 2”) were a couple of the ceiling/stair areas. 😅 Also, there’s a fair amount of city light that comes in at night—bring a good sleep mask. There were some provided and I also appreciated having my own bigger blackout sleep mask.

Great location.

This is not a 3 bedroom. This is a studio that can put 3 beds in different corners of the studio. There is no privacy. Bedrooms imply a door- there are no doors. Its one room.

Upside-Down Shibuya was an amazing brand new accommodation! We were blown away by the thought behind every part of this apartment. The host was extremely welcoming and even stayed up past midnight to greet us, even though the is a key code. He is the owner and architect of the space and provides rare insight into the space. This is THE NICEST apartment I have stayed in for my travels. For Tokyo, it's one of the rare places that can sleep a group of 4. The location is just minutes away from the major Shibuya station and on the quiet side of Shibuya where all the really nice small batch clothing shops are. Plenty of great food spots around as well. We will be back!
