Tabist HOTEL UENO 39

This hotel is in an amazing location. It’s about a one-minute walk from Ueno Station. As soon as you cross the street from the train station, walk about 20 steps and the hotel is right there. The hotel was clean and surprisingly quiet, even though it’s located in the middle of a very busy area and there’s a restaurant downstairs. The room was big enough for me and my two children, who are 10 and 11 years old. The staff was also very nice, respectful, and welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel, especially because of the location. It was extremely convenient for me and my children to get around Tokyo. There are also so many things nearby. We counted at least three 7-Elevens within a five-minute walk, and you’re also less than a five-minute walk from Ameyoko Market. Staying here made getting around Tokyo so easy for us. There were plenty of restaurants, shops, and other things to do nearby, so we really didn’t have to go far for food or shopping. This hotel saved us time, money, and a lot of walking. I highly, highly recommend this hotel, especially for families who want a clean, convenient place with easy access to the train system and everything Ueno has to offer

Space is larger than most affordable hotels (ie APA hotels). We got the three bed room. Very spacious! If you dont mind sharing the space with others, perfect hotel for you. I shared the space with my brother, mom, and my little family (2 kids - 5 years old and 10 month old) perfectly. There is even a washing machine that we used to wash clothes and hang dry. The hotel is conviently located 10 mins from JY Yamanote line and 4 min Ginza Line. Only down side is the rooms are not sound proof, so when my baby was crying you can hear in the hallways. But hopefully it didnt bother too many people since it was other families too. It does have a cozy elevator (fit a stroller, 2 luggages, 2 adults + 2 kids) other than that you need to take the stairs. Thankfully was on 4th floor. The hotel does share the space with a restaurant (open til 5am), but that didn't bother us. It was nice to know that if we ever got hungry late at night we could eat downstairs. Staff was nice, welcoming, and helpful. There was free fash wash and lotion at the bottom near check-in. Only downside to places not enough places to sit (because our sofa turned into a bed) but thats OK. Would stay here again for the price and location. TBH i love UENO and this location is convenient for trains and things to do!

This hotel appeared to be a great value for the price. Unfortunately, there are a couple of things I have not seen in the reviews. 1. The beds are incredibly hard. If you like that, then this might be a good pick for you, but for us, we were in pain the entirety of the next day. 2. The flooring was a bit uneven. I know this seems like a minor thing, but it was enough for me to notice as one side of the bed was lower making me feel like I was lopsided. 3. The hotel is conjoined with a restaurant. Seems like a good restaurant, but it is practically in the same opening as it. It was a little weird, but the biggest problem was the food smell seeping throughout the building. Overall, I would not recommend. In fact, we decided to eat the charges for our second night and left for a different hotel.
