Centurion Hotel&Spa Ueno Station

The location was great. The hotel was right in the middle of everything that is happening in Ueno, but still have its semi private entrance on a quiet alley. There are lots of restaurants that are open late, unique stores, convenience store nearby, walking distance to major train stations and major street if Uber or Cab is your preference. The SPA was a perfect way to end or start the day.

Did not like the size of the room. We are a family of four. Two kids aged between 7 and 13. The room had 4 decent-sized bunk beds, but there is no room to open a full size luggage. This was a struggle for us.

The room was spacious and the bathhouse was a great amenity.

There's only one elevator and it can take a while.

Centurian's location is in the heart of Ueno right next top Ameyoko. On the hotel's street there are many izakaya, and on neighboring streets there are a plethora of other shops as well, including Family Mart, a game center, and clothing/shoe stores. It is close to both Okachimachi and Ueno stations (about 5 minutes walking). I felt safe walking around during both the day time and night time. The hotel has a public bath, elevators, wifi, and vending machines. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and stored our bags both before and after check in, making Ueno very easy to explore. The room had many outlets, making charging devices easy.

The room was very small (to be expected), and dated. It didn't look as new as the photos indicated. My son is 6'3, and he barely fit in the bed. The mattress was sufficient but not comfortable, as I could feel the springs underneath me. The state of the room was not terrible, but for the price we paid (over $200 for one night), I expected the room to look and feel a lot more updated.

Location is perfect. Would stay for short base for Ueno exploring only.
