Nice modern Japanese design, simple but everything you need is there
Extremely noisy for sleeping at night as right next to highway, lots of racing vehicles. Window shutters did not block much light, so quite bright really early.

Very convenient for the Hakone loop, can walk to the starting station in 20 mins and Odawara is only 20 mins on a bus the other way. Very nice modern example of a japanese style house
Bedrooms/all rooms very bright you will need an eye mask to sleep at night. It is also very close to main roads and a train track which are very loud. This is obviously known by the host as a box of ear plugs are at the house on arrival.
Also had no hot water on the first day when we arrived, host had to get the gas company out. This was sorted out quickly but why was it not checked before our arrival?

Newly renovated place with all the comforts of a cozy home. Location-wise, it was a short walk to the bus stop that we could hop on the bus to Motohakone etc using the Hakone Free Pass. Also a comfortable walking distance to Hakone-Yumoto station if you’re up for it. You’ll have to cross a suspension bridge though, so might not be for the faint-hearted and not if you’re with luggage.
Host was very diligently communicating with us. Thank you for the warm welcome!
As the ground level bedroom opens to the living/dining room, suggest to put a lock or restraint to prevent the sliding doors from being easily opened by young children.
Another suggestion is to improve the Google Map or the check-in instructions. Please show the photo of the house (brown colour) more clearly. We went to the neighbouring house (blue colour) and thankfully weren’t mistaken as someone trying to break into their home!
