Being taken over so beware

We didn't risk it

The pub attached is obviously closing down. This weekend 7/3/26 they had no drink on tap at all. Only a few bottles of cider. And NO CHEF! only the continental was available. We asked the night before and we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast. Hotel being taken over so its a bit tired.

Charter Hotel - enjoyable stay (perfect location for the football)

Good location. Not far from Boscombe town centre and the Vitality Stadium (home of AFC Bournemouth) was nearby too (both about a 25 mins walk away). I was there for the football so this was perfect. Nice large clean room/bathroom. Large car park at the rear of the hotel. Lovely breakfast on Sunday morning. Staff at checkin and in the bar very friendly.

Location was good, staff were very friendly. The bed was comfy. The room was a good temperature.

The room was a bit 'tired' and probably needs updating. Not much pressure in the shower and the shower head kept slipping down. Bathroom floor could have been cleaner.

Location good but won’t be staying again unless refurbished

This property is an ideal location for the o2 where we were going to a gig. Third time we have stayed there for the same reason. Staff extremely friendly much more welcoming and friendly than last year when we stayed

Good value hotel for our stay and will be back

The hotel has recently changed hands so I was unsure how it would be. However, the room was clean and nice. The staff were really friendly which was lovely and pleasent. Can help yourself to coffee and tea etc as and when needed. Free large carpark which is also helpful!

The bar and restaurant needs some rejuvenation. We arrived late Friday evening, just after 9 - and there was no food being served (we had to order an uber!) so we got a few drinks but the pub also shut by 10pm - quite early for a friday night. We had breafast here both mornings, the price was reasonable - however the fresh continetal breakfast wasnt very fresh, the bread was hard as had been sat there for a while. The main breakfast was decent but lacked taste. The staff were so attentive however and are trying - it was so quiet in there!

Affordable and clean

The room was very clean and tidy. I've stayed in other hotels in bournemouth spent at least triple the money and it been. Atrocious. But the charter hotel is affordable and reliable. I will definitely be booking here agen.

Only flaw I can say. Is some of the cork around the skirting board needs replacing. And some of the silicone around the bath needs replacing aswell. But I do that for work so it stands out more. But it was an amazing stay. Thank you.

Great for a comfortable couple of nights.

The greeting at check in was excellent, the guy on reception was so friendly and helpful, as were all of the staff we came across.. Our room was clean and comfortable and a reasonable size. The fried breakfast was exceptional, we travel around a lot and this was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. It was around a 20 minute walk into Bournemouth and some of the restaurants, and about the same into Boscombe. It was also around a 25 minute walk to the football ground. We would stay here again.

The flush on the toilet in our room was a bit hit and miss at times but not a massive problem.

It was convenient for us, as we had to get the ferry the next day to IOW.

It took us ages to find it. It's behind a pub/restaurant, and we're had to ask someone where it was. Didn't see any signage for it on the main road 😕

From arrival to departure exceeded my expectations. The man behind the reception, sorry I didn't get his name, was extremely helpful; nothing was too much trouble. If I have to visit Bournemouth again I will certainly check out availability at this hotel.

New venture for this hotel chain, taking over a previous Premier inn.

Really welcoming and helpful reception staff. Previously a premier inn - and my bedroom reflected this. Lovely bed - good night sleep. Breakfast (in adjoining pub/restaurant) was excellent. Very good value for money.

I drove past the hotel twice. The bar/restaurant has a different name (though still part of the charter group) and was the venue closest to the road. It was only when I made use of their car park that I discovered the hotel was behind it. It is on a main A road, and there is road noise .... I slept through this, but bring ear plugs if you'd find that tricky.

Restaurant looked clean.

The hotel is a run down former premier inn in the middle of refurbishment. Room number 2 provided had frosted glass windows, the bathroom smelt stale. Reception would not move us. Equipment outside the room noisey throughout the night and kept kids awake.

The price is affordable with students like us, not too far from the beach and the station, the room is super big with neccesary facilities. The staffs are friendly, they are available 24/7 and really supportive. I feel really lucky to book such an amazing hotel to stay in when visiting bournemouth. Happy to stay and definitely come back 🥰

Room was very clean and comfortable. Quiet. Lift to reach floors. Breakfast was good. Easy check in. And parking on site.

Place is under new management hence it is a little tired and in need of a little make over. Location was an issue as it was a long walk to get to the main pier front and shopping area.

I had a room on the front and the traffic was quite noisy thru the night . I appreciate school holidays but it was still busy/noisy . Breakfast started at 7 ? While working I needed to be gone for then So didn’t have any . The WiFi was intermittent working then not usually this wouldn’t be a issue as I have full data on my phone but my phone signal was rubbish so some work I needed to do on laptop didn’t get done . Again these are little things . The hotel has recently gone under new management and what they appear to be doing is working I would stop here again maybe just ask for a room on the back .
