Il-Maxtura - Charming 17th Century House Of Character in the Historical Three Cities

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette belle demeure maltaise. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. À notre arrivée, nos hôtes nous avaient laissés des snacks et du pain frais pour le petit déjeuner sachant que nous arriverions tard dans la soirée. La maison est très confortable, très propre et joliment décorée. Rien ne manque. Nous n' avons pas eu de besoin de louer de voiture. Le quartier est bien desservi par les transports, bus et bateaux. Et pour rejoindre des lieux plus éloignés, il suffit de commander un bolt, ce qui est très rapide et économique en famille. Nos hôtes ont été très gentils et avenants, soucieux de pouvoir nous donner de bons conseils. Merci à eux d'avoir contribué à ce que l'on passe de belles vacances à Malte.

Aircon throughout, comfortable beds, dishwasher

I understand the camera at the front door as property is in a lane, I felt the camera on the terrace was intrusive though. Also the nearest shop was not sufficient for a 10 day stay. The Chain supermarket 20 minutes walk away was good. And to be honest, the steps from the waterfront to the property were challenging in the heat. Plus there was building work going on in adjacent properties (not obviously something that could be helped).

The house is very well equipped and has everything you need - the hosts have been very thoughtful. Location is good - 6 mins to the waterfront via lots of steps or 10 mins for a more gradual decline. There are a couple of small grocers within 2 minutes but they stock most things. The small roof terrace is a bonus in a city and has the added advantage of a small kitchen next to it.

Only thing to be aware of is the fact that the house is over 5 floors with narrow stairs. This is part of the charm of the property though and if you are just using 1 bedroom, you can manage with just one set of stairs.

The house is very nice! Everything you can think of is provided by Rachel and David. They furnished and decorated the house in a very tasteful manner and you can see, that they have put a lot of thoughts and love into it. We loved the area in which the house is located: You easily get (by foot in less than 10 minutes) to the harbour, to the center of Valetta and all the important places which you should visit. But you are away from all the tourist crowds coming from the cruise ships, and the noise. We enjoyed the roof terrace in the evening, sitting outside with a glass of wine and enjoying the peace and quietness. There are two little shops around the corner, where you can buy everything you need. People in the neighbour hood are really friendly and helpful.

Nothing! We cannot complain about anything! and we didn't miss anything.
