DAWLISH - DEVON : FINALLY TICKED OFF "TO DO" LIST
Location was great Dawlish is a quaint town to visit
The cottage had a few minor problems : The door key and door handle were tricky to close and lock : key will eventually break. Microwave didnt work. Some of the dishes were not clean to use. The parking is at a public / council parking. When heating did come on - the smell of heating was terrible due to the dust and filth inside the radiator framing. Does somebody generally live in the cottage? Reason for asking is that my son-in-law is allergic to cats and he come down with cold/flu like symptoms during the stay - we ended up leaving a day earlier due to this. Currently there are major road works in the area - especially in the street where the cottage is. A day before arrival - I did contact the property owner mobile number as per Booking.com emails to me - I left a message but I never received a call back or returned message. The TV remote was problematic - batteries needed to be looked at. I noticed that water was dripping through to the toilet bowl because of possible flush button on cistern - water of water or high water bills. The bed in main bedroom - is it a double bed as it seemed to be uncomfortable for 2 people. Suggestion for owner - Leave a welcome note for visitors to advise or give instructions on how to use the heating and a few details of contacts such as a locksmith if door couldn't lock etc.
