Quaint Property

We met with Roberto at the office, as instructed. He was a nice friendly man who was very helpful and he allowed us to check in early. He took us up to the property which was above the town. It was secluded and quiet with a lovely view from the terrace. The property was qaint and very traditional, which we like. Really liked the rustic feel.

Unfortunate Check-In Experience

The room's location was decent, which was one of the few positives during our two-night stay. However, I must admit that the setup was rather basic, and we found it to be just suitable for our short stay. The lack of amenities was quite noticeable, and we had to rely on the fans provided to keep cool. While it served its purpose, I can't say it left a lasting impression.

My arrival at The Sunrise was marred by a disappointing encounter with the gentleman behind the desk. I politely inquired about payment options through booking.com, as I didn't have cash on hand at that moment. However, he rudely accused me of accusing him of stealing. This unwarranted hostility soured my initial impression of the place. While I understand that they may only accept cash and I might have missed this information, I didn't deserve to be treated in such a manner for a simple question. The room also did not have Wi-Fi, which was a drawback for me.

It had multiple steep flights of stairs to get to it, and check out was extremely early. Before going I also received an angry text in all caps saying I couldn’t be late for check in.

The location was great and the staff were great.

My travel adapter wouldn't fit into the sockets but the owners/managers let me charge my phone in the reception so all worked out but just inconvenient.

Huge disappointment

Nothing

Too many stairs and unsafe route to room. Room was not ready when we arrived. Floor was dirty. NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! Had to travel up 6 stories in narrow steep stairwell with baggage much with no had rail.

I don't think I liked a single thing about "The Sunrise". I expected more. Stayed at another hotel the previous night and that was much better and a little cheaper than this one.

There was no Air conditioning in the room. Just a small fan. I mean, i paid more than 100 euros for one night and didn't even slept comfortably because it was so hot there. And the room was on 4 floor with the smallest staircase. You have to think before leaving the room just because you have to go down and then back up on so many stairs. You'll get tired only from that. I would say pay 10,20 more and stay on a good hotel.

Kind staff, heavy climb to the room

Very nice and kind owners and staff who brought us to the room. The view of the room was golden

We had to climb up 5 floors, this was not in the description. It would have been nice to have at least a glass in the room to drink some water; the room was not equipped very well... only towels. There was no balcony like in the picture.

Everything you need for a short stay. Nice place to stay!

Great, central location, close to the train station and the Main Street of Riomaggiore. The room was clean and had almost all the amenities we needed for our stay, like: comfortable bed, clean towels, working shower and toilet and a small fridge. We loved the authentic Italian vibe of our room with great views over the city. We didn’t mind the many steps up to the room, but if your in bad shape you should probably not stay here. The hosts were lovely people and kept the reception open an extra hour for us to collect the keys, because our train was delayed. Keep in mind that Riomaggiore is an old town, so if you’re expecting modern hotel vibes you might as well skip Cinque Terre all together and go somewhere else.

They should get a railing for the stairs, just for safety. Our fan didn’t work, but it wasn’t to warm during evenings and nights now, in June, so we didn’t mind. All in all a good experience:)

the property we got was completely different than it was shown in the booking add. and the facilities wasn’t as it was described in the room description. Door and the windows was loss and couldn’t be close properly that’s why it was super noisy. wasn’t worth the money at all.

Lovely

Awesome location. We stayed on the 6th which has a terrace accessible to a great view of the town. Great value for money.

Good location close to beach and main streets

Very overpriced for a room with no balcony or cooking facilities. Fan did not cool the room at all so it was too hot. There was no main room light and the bathroom light was faulty. There were broken plugs and stains on the beds.

Friendly host and staff help me carry my wife luggage to fifth floor (really appreciated)

No wifi, no air condition got one table fan in the room but don’t expected too much about the fan, furniture everything too old. My suggestion is avoid this hotel if u got big luggage or stamina not good.

I didnt like anything about The sunrise , the owner is so rude and disrespectful he didnt give us the key room for the check in on the first night and he charged us for it , we were delayed on our check in for 1 hour cause of the rain so we had to go back to la spezia and reserved a night there … very bad experience with The sunrise .

didn’t have WiFi, kitchen wasn’t well equipped and the fridge froze all of my groceries I bought, it was also very very loud at all hours, the staff wasn’t helpful in terms of leaving my bags early (I was checking out of a different Airbnb and moved here but there were a few hours in between where they didn’t let me leave my stuff)

Beautiful place, old fashion-local style, very cosy atmosphere. Easy access and an amazing view to the see. I was lucky to have that view at the sunset. There is a nice Terrace facing the see too. But most important, the hospitality and service of the staff was incredible. I recommend to stay at this place without a doubt.

Minimalist apartament located in the center of Riomaggiore

The room is pretty small but it’s just what a couple need to get rest after heavy walking along 5 terre. There is a fridge and a small table where one could have breakfast. In general, I like the atmosphere in the room: really sunny and shiny

Fairytale-like apartment with a huge terrace an, amazing view and a lovely host!

First of all, the host was extremely heartwarming, kind and a total Sweetheart. He gave us various options where to stay (in the center or in the middle of the wine fields) and even offered to show us different rooms we could choose from. We ended up in an amazing spacious apartment in the middle of the wine fields with a view over the Italian jungle of Riomaggiore. There was a huge terrace with various sitting options, which were decorated lovely and with flowers everywhere, and you had an amazing view over the sea. We specially adored the arks with fairy lights at night. The host was very flexible due to payment options and check out times and we even could leave our luggage afterwards. We had an amazing stay in this lovely apartment and would definitely come back again! Thanks!

I liked the location, it was very central to Riomaggiore. The room was more than I expected, beside a big bed, there was a small fridge, hangers, and even an extra sofa. I was staying in the pink room.

The owner officially cancelled my reservation on booking.com after I checked out, so it seems that I did not appear, when in fact I have and stayed there for one night and paid in cash as stated in the payment rules.

the street is pretty busy all night, so if you are sensitive for noise, take that in account. However, I used earplugs so it blocked most of it.
