Stayed here for 2 nights with my partner and we really enjoyed it! Room was very big, comfortable, and clean, and came with complimentary drinks as well. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly, and location was perfect. Will definitely recommend!

A serene hotel which is a stone throw away from the busy Kamo river; where all the actions are. Nice and clean hotel with huge bed. The toilet is spacious and amenities are good. I will come stay again.

From the reception to the continuous interactions and experiences - we cannot recommend Yugen Kyoto Shijo highly enough. In addition to the accommodations being spectacular, every single team member was exceptional and we felt like royalty staying here. We spent time in the onsen almost daily, and the restaurant food was first class delicious with beautiful presentation on top of it. We extended our stay to 7 days and will with no doubt return. The staff was incredibly helpful with organising taxis, nail salon reservations, hair salon reservations and other sightseeing information that was greatly appreciated. They personally helped me have a jacket shipped from our hotel in Kawaguchiko that I had forgotten and was upset about - no problem for them to find a solution for me and have it delivered to me here. The location was perfect for the Gion festival, shopping, dining options (although their restaurant was top notch) and moving freely around Kyoto. Thank you, for making our stay so incredibly special and memorable. We are so incredibly grateful to have stayed with you.
