NEW Portola House by YMR

De ligging is lekker centraal op het eiland. Ruim huis wat volledig tot je beschikking staat. Garage voor je auto. Dichtbij de leukste Levada wandeling Levada Nova die een paar kilometer van het huis start.

Het enige wat ik kan aanmerken is dat de douche af en toe ineens koud wordt.

-The house is spacious and in a nice location among the banana plantations. There are a few other houses/neighbors close by, but we hardly saw or hear them -The view, especially from the upper floor, is beautiful! Though we didn’t spend much time just sitting at the house, we were always out exploring the island. -A pretty easy drive to Ponta do Sol (our favorite beach) and to Ribeira Brava (best for getting groceries, some restaurants, and a decent beach) -Kevin was amazing with communication and check in/check out was easy. -There’s a sauna in the lowest level where the garage is, would definitely be nice in winter, but for summer we didn’t need it ;) -Convenient to drive to many parts of the island within 30-40 minutes

-No air conditioning, which make it a bit tough to sleep well at night in August -The kitchen and the larger bedroom both had some musty smells, but mostly in the kitchen cabinets. Though my friends said they didn’t notice a musty smell..I am rather sensitive to smells -No TV in the living room, though we didn’t mind, forced us to spend time talking and playing games -The photos as of Oct 2025 don’t fully reflect the current setup. The largest bedroom is the one pictured as the living room with the white couch. Instead of the white couch there is a large bed there. The door from the hallway to this room is a clear glass door which may be a privacy issue depending who is staying together. For us it was fine. My friends ( a couple) stayed in the other bedroom which had a normal door and its own en suite bathroom. There was a second bathroom in the hallway which I used -To get to the balcony with the best views you have to go upstairs and through the larger bedroom, so we never really used it -There’s mosquitos which prevented us from really spending much time on the patio. But this is likely true in many parts of the island. We still enjoyed spending most of our downtime at the kitchen table eating and playing games -The shaggy area rugs

-Das Haus ist sehr geräumig,Wohn-Schlafbereich auf 2 Ebenen aufgeteilt. -Geschmackvolle Wohneinrichtung,bequeme Betten,ausgesprochen große Auswahl an Büchern,Reiseführern etc ( viel in deutscher Sprache ! ) -Der Aussenbereich mit Sonnenterrasse bzw. Balkon (1.Etage) mit dem traumhaft schönen Ausblick auf das Meer! -Im Erdgeschoss die überdachte Terrasse, die die Möglichkeit bietet im Schatten zu sitzen. -2 Badezimmer (1.Etage) plus zusätzliches Gäste-WC im EG -Die eigentliche Lage des Hauses (Hanglage),etwa 10 Minuten Autofahrt bis Ribera Brava (Supermarkt,Geschäfte,Cafés etc) -Freundlicher schneller Kontakt zum Vermieter

-der Wasserlauf,welcher an der Terrasse entlang verläuft ,war phasenweise extrem laut -das Geschirr,die Gläser hätten sauberer sein können ( Essensreste,eingestaubt) -die Küche besitzt keine Spülmaschine -die Eiswürfel/Crasheis-Funktion am Kühlschrank war nicht angeschlossen -die Warmwassereinstellung ist nicht immer zuverlässig gewesen,man musste oftmals mehrmals den Versuch starten,bis der Boiler ansprang,trotz Wechsel der Gasflasche
