Uns hat die Unterkunft insgesamt gut gefallen. Besonders die Lage direkt an der Promenade war für uns ideal, da man abends schnell zu Fuß unterwegs sein konnte. Der altmodische Stil des Hauses muss einem gefallen, uns hat er gut gefallen. Auch das Bad und die Ausstattung waren gut. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war freundlich und unkompliziert. Die negativen Punkte aus anderen Bewertungen können wir nicht bestätigen, bei uns gab es weder Stromausfälle noch andere größere Probleme. Grundsätzlich können wir die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

Die Sauberkeit in der Küche hat uns leider nicht ganz überzeugt. Einige Küchenutensilien waren bei unserer Ankunft noch nicht richtig sauber, möglicherweise vom Vormieter. Außerdem wirken die Räume auf den Bildern etwas größer, als sie tatsächlich sind. Die Bilder entsprechen grundsätzlich der Unterkunft, können bei der Größe und Raumaufteilung aber etwas täuschen.

The situation of the apartment is close to the lake, basically in front of the of it. This can also be a negative, as it seems to be located in a Bermuda triangle of restaurants, concerts and general noise that will definitely mess with your resting state. Furniture and everything else is IKEA, so i guess half of the tenants will find some familiarity in that. The beds are comfortable.

I waited before posting this review because I wanted to see whether others had a similar experience. After reading another recent review, I felt reassured that my impressions weren’t unique. The apartment looks beautiful in the photos, but the reality is unfortunately quite different. The booking and payment process is unnecessarily complicated. You have to make three separate bank transfers to different recipients, and then pay cash at the end of your stay for the bed linens. The person managing the apartment in Verbania was not particularly welcoming or helpful. The check-in explanation felt rushed, with the heat and the stairs to the second floor given as reasons to keep it brief. However, she took plenty of time explaining anything that might inconvenience her, such as the TV satellite or internet, making it very clear that if there were any issues, we should call the listed phone numbers because she would not assist. The bed linen arrangement was also confusing. We had to explain several times how many sets we required, yet there still seemed to be uncertainty. I’ll simply put that down to poor communication. The apartment gets extremely hot. During our stay in June, the indoor temperature reached 31°C. Noise is another major issue. There are two restaurants directly below the apartment, evening concerts are sometimes held in the nearby public garden and continue late into the night, and the garbage collection trucks are very loud early in the morning. A good night’s sleep is difficult to achieve. Check-out is also quite early (9:30 a.m.), which adds unnecessary pressure on departure day. There were several other smaller issues that, on their own, wouldn’t have mattered much. However, taken together, they made for a disappointing experience. I usually enjoy supporting independently managed properties on Booking.com, but unfortunately this stay fell well below expectations, and I cannot recommend it.
