An easy walk into Buxton. Bedrooms a good size.
Sofas were uncomfortable and it was difficult to watch TV due to the angle. The kitchen was basic and the bathroom had black mould on the ceiling, and no toiletries.

The house is within easy walking distance of Buxton town centre so within easy access of the town and its facilities. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable so we slept well. The kitchen was equipped well and we were able to prepare meals easily. Also, there was a great table in the kitchen which was ideal for playing board games. Accessing the house was easy with the lock box by the front door.
The house has a very strange heating system which basically doesn’t work very well. When we arrived the house was freezing and there’s no thermostat in the house, so you cannot arrange for the heating to come on at a given time and warm the house up. We could get the heating working but only temporarily as the heating clicked off periodically and had to be constantly boosted which was not good. I think the system could be manipulated remotely but not by a guest on site. It was about 5 degrees outside on the first night and so it was wasn’t particularly pleasant on the first evening and the heating came on in the middle of the night when it wasn’t needed. The lack of any control of the heating in winter makes this unusable as a property in winter.
The floors downstairs were freezing too and the need for slippers is essential- unfortunately this was not communicated in any pre-arrival communication (only after we had left home) so it exacerbated the feeling of cold. I know it probably isn’t great in the promo material for a cottage to say you really need warm slippers because people will pass on the property when renting in the winter (as I would have done).
The process of booking, paying and getting information wasn’t great. Too many emails (soooo many) and so much conflicting information which was worrying, especially as it was followed by requests for credit card details for a damage deposit and personal identification which I felt was excessive. I’ve rented countless properties without the need for this rigmarole and I did think I was being scammed at one point. Although I liked the cottage, the cold and the communication has put me off and I won’t return and won’t use this company again. It is not a relaxing experience.

Everything was wonderful, nothing bad to say.

Location and condition
Advertised a garden when we couldn’t use it, we specifically booked it as we had dog and paid £50 extra for the dogs to stay.
No washing up liquid -
Shower pressure was one of the worst I’ve experienced, reminded me of my travelling days -
A constantly and most annoying beeping sound in a cupboard that was locked so you couldn’t do anything any it, was like a smoke alarm sound that needed changing.

Good location, nicely decorated - particularly the bedrooms, and well equipped. Comfortable beds. Addition of charging stations etc was useful.
It was advertised as having a garden, but the back door was nailed permanently shut so we could not access to let our dog out - I felt that this was false advertising as we would not have booked had we known we could not access the garden from the house and also feel it’s a fire hazard to permanently block a fire escape?! Also the kitchen cupboards smelled strongly of damp meaning we had to re wash all cups, plates etc before use to get rid of the smell.

The property had nice rooms , suitable for us and was nicely laid out for when we arrived. They also kindly did a welcome basket with a few essentials which was very kind of them . The information about the property was good and appears thorough in the info they gave you . Nice location and easily walkable to town centre.
We were able to park near on the road.
It stated on the listing there is a garden, there is a very small courtyard however unfortunately this was locked and we were told for safety reasons. Just be mindful when booking as we had a dog , just had to take the dog down the road for the toilet as there is no accessible garden.
Also the heating is controlled by a boost system, we went in October so was fairly mild but was pretty cold in the house (we also had three young children with us so was mindful of this). You only have the ability to put the heating on a boost for an hour which is not long lasting, understand this will likely be for costs and so people do not leave it running - but it didn’t really enable the home to heat , not sure if this system changes in the more winter months?

Located very close to the centre of Buxton, the property was finished to a very high standard. Good facilities, clean throughout and perfect for our stay. The host, Olivia, was attentive and communication was excellent.
Unfortunately the property doesn’t benefit from private parking and the on-street parking can get very busy but to be fair we never had any problems finding somewhere not too far away.

Close to Buxton town centre and cottage was lovely inside with great decor and facilities
Parking was tight on a narrow busy lane.

Quiet location, only a short walk to the high street and we were able to park outside the front door. it`s street parking for all residents, and didn't move the car during our stay, otherwise it could have been a problem parking close to the property.
Very clean, with comfortable beds,
Leaflets with local community information would be useful, events, recommended restaurants etc,
Also, not able to use the kitchen door which would enable you to access the small back yard.

Lovely property, very comfortable. Has everything you could need. The hostess was great and checked in with us to make sure we were all settled.
It was a hot day, so the home was quite stuffy and we couldn't open half the windows in the house. Particularly in the kitchen area when we were cooking.
