The location and price were both 10/10! The hostel also includes a delicious breakfast, which was definitely a plus. It’s right beside Ben Thanh Market, so finding food is super easy—there are plenty of options in the market and along the nearby streets. The location is also very strategic for first-time visitors to Ho Chi Minh City. Most of the famous attractions are within walking distance, so you can easily explore the city on foot and save on transportation. Just be prepared to get your 10k–15k steps in every day hehe The staff were also very nice, friendly, and welcoming, which made my stay even more pleasant. A few things that could make the hostel even better would be having a common area where travelers can chill, have nice conversations, and make new friends. I also wish the showers had a hot water option, and having a hair dryer/blow dryer available would be a nice addition too.

I spent 5 days at this great hostel, located in central tral District 1. Ideal for shopping, opposite the famous central market, restaurants, cafes and easy access to all the tourist locations HCMC has to offer. The VY DA Central Market Hostel staff are all amazingly helpful and polite... 5 choices of tasty and nutricious breakfasts are included in your accommodation a perfect start to your day of exploring Saigon... I recommend you consider VY DA Central Market Hostel for your budget accommodation when visiting HCMC

Good food, near everything. Nice staff

I recently stayed at Vy Da Market Hostel, and while the location is excellent and the price is budget-friendly, my overall experience was disappointing. The first thing we noticed upon entering our room was an unpleasant smell. The bed sheets, pillows, and linens also appeared stained, making us question how regularly they are cleaned and changed. We also requested a towel replacement, but were told that no clean towels were available at the time. We decided to extend our stay because our flight was scheduled for the midnight of July 17, and we wanted a comfortable place to rest before heading to the airport. However, after returning from dinner, the front desk staff confronted us, demanding a deposit for the towels and keys, even though we had already returned them to another staff member. He also told us that we would “have a problem” if we didn’t check out that night, despite our extension already being arranged for the following day. The interaction was intimidating and made us feel uncomfortable and genuinely frightened. While I appreciate the convenient location and affordable rates, cleanliness and customer service are just as important. Unfortunately, the condition of the room and the way we were treated by the staff overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests.
