Student Only - Huxley Studios Near Edinburgh City Centre

Das Studio war sauber, sehr modern und gut ausgestattet – mit einem tollen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Es war perfekt für einen Solo-Trip, da man sich sehr wohlgefühlt hat. Die Lage ist hervorragend: Man ist super ans ÖV-Netz angebunden und hat praktisch immer einen Bus in der Nähe. Ins Zentrum kann man auch gut in 20 Minuten zu Fuss gehen. Es ist kein Hotel, das heißt, es gibt keinen Zimmerservice – was für mich aber völlig in Ordnung war. Man sollte sich jedoch bewusst sein, dass man beim Check-out den Abfall selbst entsorgen und das Geschirr abwaschen muss.

Der Check-in war ein wenig mühsam, da man ohne Schlüssel nicht ins Gebäude kommt und vor der Tür warten muss, bis jemand von der Rezeption erscheint. Im Zimmer war es teilweise etwas kühl, aber sobald man die Heizung verstanden hat, war das auch kein Problem mehr.

Everything was great, easy, and smooth at Mezzino Huxley Studios. It made my stay incredibly enjoyable in Edinburgh. Comfort, location, Wifi, facilities...Absolutely, everything was perfect.

Nothing.

Before my stay I was in touch with the customer support team of Huxley studios. They asked me to send over documents to proof that I'm an active student. I sent over the required documents, but they kept asking for more. I had already paid, but if I couldn't proof it enough, they would cancel my stay. The way they communicated was distant and lacked empathy. They wouldn't go into something I said or asked, I felt ignored. It was terrible! In the end I was fed up and got angry with them, and suddenly my booking was confirmed and accepted. The studio was not very clean, lacked basic amenities (like handsoap, washing detergent, spunges, shower soap etc) which you would expect for this price. Also, the shower drain was blocked which meant I barely could use the shower without it flooding. I contacted them and they said they would send someone over after the weekend. I stayed from thursday-sunday, so nothing happened. I bought drain unblocker myself, so I could at least have a shower the next mornings.
