Hiriketiya Lima Homestay

Air-con worked well and the room was clean. It's a nice family. Location is okay, on the other side of the main hub in Hiriketiya, so about 15 minute walk to the beach.

Wifi only worked about 10% of the time. It was hard to enjoy the outdoor space and breakfast area, because there are a lot of flies (more than typical for Sri Lanka). The room is a bit dark, and small (only really has a bed and bedside table). There is hot water in the shower, but the water pressure is low that it's hard to wash hair. The room has a wooden locked door that connects to the family home, so you can hear everything in the house, and often the sound begins at around 6 or 7am. There is no free drinking water (have to buy plastic bottles which is wasteful). There is no kettle to make coffee or tea. I think it was too expensive compared to other places in Sri Lanka, but I guess the cost is higher simply because of the air-con.

It is a simple homestay, but with hot water and airco, away from main road of Hiriketiya. The family always prepared different breakfast each morning. They also offer motorbike rental and laundry service for a good price. They also have some pets, small kittens and a puppy. Initially I booked only for a couple of nights. But I liked the area, location, homestay, and family so much so I end up staying 2 weeks. It was really hard to leave the place. I really recommend this homestay if you like to be away from the main area, but still close enough to walk/go with bike. I will visit this place again next time 🙏🏼. Thank you.

Breakfast was in local style, tasty. I’ve stayed there for 3 days, every day was different food. The was clean and enough space. Location is perfect, it’s close to the Blue beach and main beach of Hiriketiya.

First day the A/C didn’t work and it was hard to fall asleep.

Die Hosts waren super freundlich und haben uns versucht bei allem weiter zu helfen. Das Frühstück war lecker und abwechslungsreich. Den Wäscheservice, den sie anbieten, hat einen sehr guten Preis und sie waren schon am selben Tag fertig. Außerdem haben sie auch einen Hund und eine Katze und einen Abend haben wir auch einen Welpen gesehen. Die Klimaanlage funktioniert super und das Bad war sehr sauber. Wir haben uns super wohl dort gefühlt und können es jeden, der in Hiriketiya ein paar Nächte verbringen will, nur wärmstens empfehlen. Man kann bei Ihnen auch direkt kaltes Wasser kaufen, was auch sehr praktisch war. Ach ja und an sich auch der Garten ist super schön und wir haben am ersten Tag auch eine kleine Affenfamilie entdeckt, die dort in den Bäumen rumgetollt ist Man war direkt am Blue Beach und zum Hiriketiya Beach waren es vielleicht auch maximal 10 Gehminuten. Man hatte genug leckere Restaurants in der Nähe, also wirklich top
