The George and Dragon - A Heartwood Inn

5 star stay We had the most wonderful stay at The George & Dragon, Marlow, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, Mary made us feel incredibly welcome. Her warm, friendly personality and exceptional customer service made our stay feel truly personal. She is a real credit to the team and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Our evening meal was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care. Dining in the charming courtyard created such a relaxed atmosphere—it was the perfect setting to unwind on a warm evening. Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive. There was a great choice, everything was freshly cooked, and the quality was exceptional. It was the perfect start to the day. We stayed in one of the Snug Rooms, which felt more like a standard double than a snug room. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. The location couldn’t have been better. With Marlow’s wonderful independent shops, cafés, and restaurants literally on the doorstep, we were able to leave the car behind and enjoy everything this beautiful town has to offer. The George & Dragon offers the perfect combination of luxurious accommodation, exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. A special thank you to Mary for making our stay so memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and are already looking forward to returning.

Nothing, minor point aircon in room under par, Could do with air-conditioning in bar and eating area, although visited during hottest time temperature 30o

Location

The room was poor and they gave us an accessibility room despite our protests. The room was very small and dark, bathroom was almost unusable due to mirror being too low & shower poor quality and the staff simply were not interested. They are more interested in the bar and restaurant than the rooms.
