Pensión Miramar

We had a lovely stay overall. The location was brilliant, right in the middle of the old square and above everything, so you’re only minutes away from pretty much anywhere you want to go. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean, which made the stay very comfortable. The owner was also lovely and incredibly helpful, especially with allowing us to leave our bags before check-in and after check-out.

There were a few downsides. The noise from other guests in the hallway, as well as from the bars below, could get a little annoying, particularly at night. I’d also suggest adding blackout blinds to the windows, as quite a lot of light comes through and can make it difficult to sleep. One other thing I noticed was that the combination on my suitcase had been changed to 000 after I had left it there before check-in. I had intentionally scrambled the numbers before leaving the bag, so it seemed unusual that they would happen to line up to 000. I obviously can’t say for certain what happened, but it was concerning to notice and would be something I’d suggest the property look into.

The ceilings fans cooled down the bedroom beautifully, however, the separate parlor with coffee, closets and bathroom was quite warm even with ceiling fan. Most likely due to no windows for fresh air movement. This would not normally be a problem but August temperatures have gotten much hotter.

Everything was clean and efficient and it was nice to have fresh towels and housekeeping. Great location; really central to everything and in the middle of the best food in the world. Ganbara is right underneath - Anthony Bourdains favorite tapas in San Sebastián.

Pay attention to the other reviews about street noise. It’s as advertised.

Great location - very convenient for a weekend trip, close to all the tapas/pinxos bars. The room was clean and comfortable.

It wasn't clear to me upon booking that the bathroom was located down the hall from the room and that I would need to carry keys each time I wanted to access it. I probably would not have booked this property had I known this.
