Tru By Hilton Montréal centre-ville

The hotel is located near the University of Quebec at Montreal. It is across the street from a subway stop. Parking for a car is about 1/2 a block from the hotel. The staff were excellent. My wife and I needed an umbrella one day and the staff provided us with ones at no cost. The breakfast was what you expect, solid but nothing extraordinary. Quite and well-maintained property. Overall, highly recommended.

This part of Montreal is experiencing lots of construction and redevelopment, so several time my wife and I had to walk a long route to get where we wanted to go. Since the University of Quebec was close by, there were lots of food options. Most of them were good, but only a few were exceptional. They seemed to cater to the college crowd. There was one absolutely fabulous Brazilian restaurant on Saint-Denis, so you can find fine dining if you look.

Very kid-friendly and accomodating. My family enjoyed the common room so much we spent more time there than in our room.

The TVs werent working during the NHL playoff. The place could really be spruced up with another indoor game table.

The district was a bit dodgy overall though it was easily reachable by public transport. The hotel and the decor felt more like an upmarket youth hostel - not quite what was expected from the brand. WiFi was OK though not always working optimally.
