Aircon was either super cold or hot. Individual rooms could not adjust individually. Hotel had stairs to enter and then stairs to get down to the basement rooms. Black mould in the bathroom. Shower leaked everywhere. Very disappointing experience.

I stayed at Olympia Hotel by Lodgo for a recent four-night stay in Montreal. I would recommend it mostly because of the location. It is very convenient if you want to be near the Village, Sainte-Catherine Street, bars, restaurants, public transportation, rental bikes, coffee shops, and other central areas. The staff at the front desk were friendly, receptive, and helpful. The room had a queen bed and was on the small side, but the bed was comfortable. The room was also well equipped with the small appliances I needed. The pillows were pretty flat, though. I needed about three pillows to equal one regular supportive pillow. The first night, the room was hot and I had a hard time sleeping. The thermostat showed 25°C. I tried adjusting the air conditioner with the remote, but could not get it to work, and there were no instructions provided. I told the front desk the next morning, and it was fixed later that afternoon. I also noticed the air conditioner remote was missing the battery cover. Housekeeping was limited. My room was only serviced once during the four-night stay, and there was no hand towel provided. The bathroom was also small, and moving around the door took some careful maneuvering. The bathroom floor got very slick when wet, so that is something to be careful about. The hot water in the shower and sink was also very hot and needed careful adjustment. Noise and light were also issues. I could hear street noise through the windows even when they were closed, and the shades did not block much light. Even though the hotel has noise restrictions, I could still hear a lot of noise through the door from nearby rooms and people walking in the hall. The hotel offered complimentary drip coffee from a home-style coffee machine, but I did not think the coffee was good. There was no coffee maker in the room, but the hotel is close to coffee shops, so that helped. I also found the security deposit a little odd for a hotel. Another concern was that the front door of the hotel was often not securely shut, including at night, which made it feel like anyone could walk in. The desk chair in the room seemed flimsy, and I would be concerned about it holding up for someone heavier. Overall, this is a convenient, well-located hotel with friendly staff, and I would recommend it for the location. That said, there are some things that could be improved, especially housekeeping, towels, bathroom space and safety, noise, light blocking, hot water temperature, coffee quality, in-room coffee options, and building security.

Not good value for money. The room was noisy, and the sheets and pillows felt old. Staff could be more helpful, and charging $15 for luggage storage felt unreasonable. Overall, the stay did not meet expectations.
