About this house rental
Turnkey summer retreat with its own boat dock and kayaks on Shinnecock Bay! This expansive one-acre property is south of the highway and only 5 minutes from pristine Ponquogue Beach. A heated gunite pool, detached 2-story pool house, and expansive porch will keep your family happy and entertained during the entire stay and help you build memories to last a lifetime.
The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a lovely living area leading to a large deck (our favorite place to be!). The third bedroom has a trundle bed which can be made into two twins or one king with a mattress pad (see photos).
The 2-story detached pool house has its own kitchen and living room plus spare bedrooms for plenty of extra space.
There is a 2-car garage, plus dedicated outdoor parking for 3 additional cars. Both houses have high-speed mesh wireless internet, central air, and their own laundry units.
Hampton Bays is a quaint hamlet in the Town of Southampton, conveniently located only 20 minutes from Southampton Village, Westhampton Beach, or Riverhead! Hampton Bays itself has its own charming main street, with two grocery stores, restaurants, retail, and more. Hampton Bays has its own Long Island Rail Road Station and Hampton Jitney stop and is only a 90 minute drive from Manhattan.
You said you wanted everything the Hamptons had to offer so we decided to bring all of that to you in our wonderful home. We can’t wait for you to enjoy it!
The Hamptons is not just for the summer. In the off season, enjoy nice hikes in the woods or on the beach, galleries, shopping, and no reservations required at the best restaurants!
Note: the pool and dock are closed for the season after Labor Day and will reopen Memorial Day 2024.

We had a fun 2 weeks in this beautiful summer house! Great location and close to the beach. The house is clean and well maintained. Owner was super attentive and friendly. He kept up well informed and provided extra help during storm time. Can't forget to mention the outside space was amazing! Great bayfront view with kayaks and a swimming pool (well equipped with all the floaties & foam noodles) ! We hope to return next year!

Our family had a wonderful stay. The house is perfectly situated on the water with a dock for easy access to boating, kayaks, and paddle boarding. Plenty of space to spread out inside and outside. Plus the pool was a blast for the kids. Very close to beaches and restaurants. Fantastic spot and highly recommended.

Based on the photos provided, I thought the property would be tired. I was not expecting the complete lack of upkeep.
On a positive note, the view was beautiful. It was the best part about the house. The beds were also comfortable and the linens/towels were ample.
The kitchen was reportedly fully stocked - and I am sure it once was, but no one has managed things. There was part of a lobster pot, but not enough components to actually cook lobster. There were bread and paring knives, but no chef's knife to cut anything of substance. No pot to cook pasta - I could go on. Nothing was in a general state of disarray.
For the pool - the deck was pretty covered with weeds. The pool accessories were in a closet - most were completely covered with black mold and mildew. Only one raft was remotely usable.
All the screen doors to the deck were covered in mildew/mold.
The deck furniture was definitely on it's last legs - most chairs were threadbare with holes and the table desperately needed a bleach scrub. The deck itself had quite a few spots of wear and splinter hazard. The roof and beams had visible holes and were home to bees.
The heating/air conditioning was completely out of whack. Everyday I had to reset the heat so it wouldn't come on and compete with the air conditioning.
All in all, we had a great family vacation - the house was fine - certainly not "exceptional" as advertised.
