About this house rental

Grab your family and close friends, your fishing poles, your kayaks and canoes, and, of course, your cameras! There's really no better place to make memories than Lookout Cove.

ABOUT LOOKOUT COVE

This beautiful home overlooks Trails End Lake, a small tranquil body of water with no powered boats allowed, which is regularly stocked with populations of trout by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This makes it the perfect place to teach the kids to fish or enjoy some time swimming or kayaking from the public boat launch nearby. It's a bit of a hidden gem as well, being overshadowed by nearby Hood Canal and relatively unknown, except by the friendly community that lives along its shores.

The home itself has much to offer anyone looking for a place to relax and re-center. There is a deck overlooking the lake on the front side of the house and a back patio from which to enjoy the lawn and private playground, and a front porch with a fire pit to welcome you.

MORE ABOUT LOOKOUT COVE

Inside you'll find comfortable sleeping arrangements for all ages, as well as two bathrooms with showers and one with a luxurious ceramic tub. The beautiful wood and stone, open concept kitchen is appointed with modern appliances, such as a glass top range and two full ovens, perfect for feeding large groups after a hard day of play. It opens onto a combined living room and dining room with a gas fireplace, flat screen tv, and a large window offering views of the lake and the mountains beyond.

Also offered? A den complete with a bar and a table tennis set up for the adults to retreat to once the kids are worn out, an office space in case you absolutely must keep a handle on some work while you're away, and even a crib and some toys for any little ones coming along for the trip.

Lookout Cove is truly the best place for families and friends to retreat to for peace, quiet and badly needed R&R.

It was not what i thought it would be. I thought it was closer to the water. Unluckily it rained on friday and saterday. So we was unable to fish. We were unable to use any of the water crafts they offered. Was no where to go or anything to do.

The house itself was okay. A lot of stairs and a weird layout. Coffe maker was dirty. Dishes has debris in them. The backyard area for the kids to play in was unusable because of the grass and it was so dirty. The little castle thing in the back was also falling apart. They have a terrible hot water heater that means only one person can shower and then wait over an hour for someone else to wash. That sucked for a house that can sleep 10 people. The shower in the main bedroom was super nice but also useless because the water pressure isnt good enough for it to function. My favorite part of the house was the heated toilet seat/bidet in the main bathroom. The internet was incredibly spotty at best and cell service was non existent. There is no landline for emergencies.I told the host I was booking it because my mom was getting married and her house was too small to accommodate all of us. They said congrats on the wedding and then nothing until they sent 7 pages of instruction the week before our stay (I booked in March, we stayed first week of June). In that document it says that we were not allowed to have guests over and it would be 100 per guest and vehicle. By that point it was too late to cancel and get any of my money back. So our entire trip was ruined. We messaged the host asking why they didnt say anything when I first booked the trip and that I had expressly told them that we planned to have my mom and her new husband over. They said "sorry for your disappointment"

This was a great home for multiple families to stay at together for vacation. There was plenty of space and things to do and lots of options for kiddos. Plus the house and neighborhood were so quiet! Other pros: comfortable beds, well-stocked house (beach towels, life vests, an SUP available for use, games toys, etc), a great yard space for both dogs and kids, and a super nice primary bathroom upstairs. The cons of this stay were 1) the internet connection was spotty at best so when one member of our group had some online meetings, it made it very difficult 2) there was no covering on the window in the kitchen area and the next door neighbor kept staring in at us (we put up a sheet to block this out) and 3) though it is easy to drive to lakes and state parks, Trails End Lake has no beach area or anywhere to sit near the water. It was great for putting in a SUP and would be great for a fishing boat I imagine, but we were hoping to be able to easily go out to the lake and just hang. In order to do so, you have to drive to one of the state parks nearby and either have a Discover pass or pay the day use fee. Beside being on a lake or the canal, there isn’t much to do here so this is a great place if you’re really wanting to be away from it all. Overall, this house was great and Trails End lake really is lovely.

Was a snagg with housekeeping running behind and with check in being so late as is was alil rough for the little. And management not having anything to offer as a place to go wait was tricky. But we survived. We found the community park.. ofcourse after the 1days snaggs we had no problems! Definitely recommend!!! Amazing home! So many things to keep the entertainment going all day and night! Children were in awee of the toys and play areas. The community park was perfect! Had everything you need for a day at the lake!

Great place for families with young children. Able to keep them from going up or down stairs with existing baby gates. Game room with ping pong and shuffleboard was very fun for the adults. We’d go back!
