About this farm stay rental

16 th century stone farmhouse annex built with stone from Glastonbury Abbey, with cottage stable door, exposed beams, stone mullions, window seats and flagstone floor.
Short walk across fields and footpaths to the summit of Glastonbury Tor.
The farmhouse was lovingly restored in 2019 using traditional lime plaster methods and low volatile eco-friendly paints, installing a filter for drinking water. There are 2 bedrooms, ( 1 double , 1 twin with ensuite, 2nd bathroom. The annex also benefits from a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, dining table and a separate lounge with wood-burning stove. There is underfloor heating in the kitchen to make it extra cosy in the winter months.
I live next door in the main part of the house so will be available to greet you and if you need anything during your stay.
You'll have your own separate seating area and personal entrance under the rose arch, and can also enjoy use of my private swimming pool, and I'm happy to share my 1/2 acre garden which has lots of secluded seating areas. There's a brick built BBQ base under the apple tree suitable for charcoal BBQ's.
Surrounded by nature you'll enjoy far reaching views across fields as far as Wells Cathedral and Mendip Hills.
Its an ideal location for a restful holiday or perfect for longer stays of 2 - 4 weeks if you fancy a working break in the country away from the city.
If you enjoy walking there are plenty of footpaths and quiet lanes, nature reserves within easy reach. Plenty of flat cycling, and enjoy a plethora of wildlife, we sometimes get visiting deer in the garden, see hedgehogs and the hedgerows abound with chirpy sparrows and other bird-life.
It's also an area of historical interest through the ages with Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Cave, Glastonbury Abbey, Burrow Mump ( famous as the place that King Alfred took refuge and burnt the cakes!), Wells Cathedral and Bishops Palace, Chalice Well Gardens and Spring.
Have an interesting stroll along Glastonbury High Street with its colourful mix of eclectic shops.
There are traditional Street markets in Wells on Wednesdays and Saturdays and in Glastonbury on Tuesday with local food and crafts.
Visit Wilkins Cider Farm a family farm that has been using traditional methods to produce Somerset cider over many generations.

We loved staying at Tamsin's! The cottage is just beautiful, with picture-perfect views from every window. Everything was spotlessly clean and of the highest quality. We were touched by the thoughtful welcome gifts which included wine, chocolate and homemade apple juice - so generous! Tamsin was a wonderful host - so welcoming and helpful, and a clear communicator throughout. We feel very lucky to have stayed here, and would love to return one day.
