Thanks to the convenient onsite parking, you can either leave your vehicle behind and let your feet make short work of the 12-minute walk to Saar-Hunsrueck Nature Park, or easily tackle the 9-minute drive to Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park.

The pictures online are incorrect and later we found out: even deceiving.
Upon arrival the disappointed started : there was only a small groundfloor, which felt like a basement. Online pictures are show of the TOTAL house, which consists of 2 apartments, so including the other (better) above apartment. Even reviews are of both appartements. We have been travelling a lot through online platforms like HomeAway, but we never experienced the likes of this.
We found the interior to be very basic: the dinner table is so small, that even with our two small children we could hardly manage. The second ‘sleepingroom’ was a like a cupboard with no windows. We could hear the drainage of the apartment above loudly, everytime a toilet was flushed. We had been travelling a lot with our children, but this was the first time that they told us they were scared. All rooms feel very basic and makeshift. We felt tucked away in the basement.
Also we found a dead mouse in the 2nd sleepingroom, that was dried out. It had been lying there dead for quite some time.
But the most uncomfortable aspect was, that the whole house isn’t adequate for 2 seperate groups: the house is very VERY noisy. We could hear our neighbours talking literally, walking, having a shower, toilet, etc. The two apartments are ‘separated’ through a glass door that just isn’t enough to give a basic level of privacy.
On top of that these guest were very loud during the night. At 4:30 a.m. I asked them to be a bit more quiet since we were sleeping. They very bluntly told us that they didn’t care and kept playing music until 7:30 in the morning.
Altogether, this made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome, that we decided to leave the next day.
After that we reached out to Klaus, who proved to be and an uncaring host. Right from the start we felt that he reacted very formal, without any sympathy for our situation. He implied that we lied about the dead mouse, denied the incorrect information on the HomeAway website and made a formal remark that the residents should be quiet after 22:00hrs. But as a host he never set the conditions for 2 groups staying together in a comfortable manner: no reception upon arrival and no instructions/ house rules beforehand.
At home, we checked the description of the house again, now with new knowledge. We concluded that the information is incorrect and even deceiving. Pictures are incorrect and reviews are of the total house and misleading.

We stayed at the Diamond for a week in July. The Villa certainly lived up to all expectations. The location is great (we flew into Hahn) and all amenities are nearby. The weather was brilliant for the week which was a bonus.
The villa has absolutely everything a family of 5 would need. The beds were comfortable and and bedrooms spacious. Having two bathrooms was also welcome. The gardens are lovely, especially the barbeque and garden seating area. We enjoyed having breakfast on the beautiful terrace - complete with sun loungers.
There is plenty to do in the area, from hiking to just relaxing. The small town of Herrstein was particularly lovely. We also found a fantastic outdoor swimming pool in Kirn approx 20 mins away - which has a separate kiddies pool, 30 metre swim pool and also a pool complete with slide and water massage area. There are also other good outdoor pools in the vicinity. The restaurants in Idar Oberstein down by the Mineral Musuem and Felsenkirche (10 mins away) were good value for money.

The Diamant Villa is a five-star certified property which sits perfectly in the town of Morscheid. While providing the beautiful tranquility of the country-side, Frankfurt’s city life is more than worth the commute. There are two airports within a one hour’s commute (Airport-one hour, Hahn-30 minutes). For anyone looking to submerge themselves into the German culture, this would be the ideal area to adventure in. My family and I received our friends arriving from abroad stayed with us for a holiday.
We all wanted so much to interact with the local residents. We were all pleasantly surprised how they welcomed us so warm and courteous despite how little Deutch we were able to speak. Once we met the owners and how inviting they made us feel, allowed us to feel at home. After an all around positive experience, my family and I would unquestionably recommend the Diamant Villa for anyone interested in renting a villa within the German state of Hensen.
