About this apartment rental
The apartment, completely renovated in May 2017, is located on the first floor of a fifteenth Century building.
The entry is from a private courtyard and there is only one flight of stairs to get in. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 with King size beds and one with a French size bed. In the living room there is a double sofa bed where 2 people can comfortably sleep.
The apartment has 3 bathrooms, one of which with direct access from one of the double rooms.
Five windows, three in the living room and two in one of the larger rooms, give a fantastic view directly to a typical Venetian Canal where gondolas often pass. The other 3 rooms and another bathroom have windows that overlook a beautiful internal garden.
The neighborhood is typically Venetian and not very touristy. The apartment is in the historic center just 5 minutes walk from the Rialto Bridge and 7 from Piazza San Marco. Very close there is the fifteenth century Church of the Miracles, probably one of the most beautiful in Venice. Just 200 meters away there is a supermarket open until 9 p. m. and every Sunday. All around there are typical Venetian bacari (osterie) and some excellent restaurants.

This place was charming and very spacious for Venice.It looked exactly like it did in the pictures and accommodated our family of 8 beautifully, with an added bonus of view of the canal from the living room and one of the bedrooms. The beds were comfortable (including the sofa bed) and rooms spacious. Only thing I would have liked is hooks in the bathrooms to hang your towels. Our host Nicoletta was lovely and provided us with information to easily navigate through the apartment. Would absolutely recommend staying here.

Niki was extremely helpful during our stay, making sure that we had some snacks in the cupboard & juice in the fridge when we arrived. She had someone meet us on the dock and walk us to the property, since GPS is spotty in Venice and it’s easy to get lost.
We had some trouble with overloading the power with the air conditioning on the first night, but Niki got it fixed right away, and once we got used to how things operated, everything worked perfectly. It was so nice to have air con during the summer, and the units cooled the rooms right away!
It was very convenient to have a washing machine in the property. While it would have been nice to have a dryer, the clothes did dry very fast hung on the clotheslines, which were outside two of the bedrooms.
The door keys were tricky, as the doors are very old, but we got used to it. This is not the host’s fault - I would imagine all doors in Venice are like that! Just something to keep in mind if you stay there. Have patience - it’s a trade-off for the history of your surroundings. :)
The front bedroom with the en suite bathroom was noisy in the early mornings and late nights, since the windows are facing a busy canal. That was really the only downside.
All in all, Niki as very prompt in answering my questions, was extremely helpful (she even arranged for our water taxi back to the train station), and the property was exactly as described. Easy walk to points of interest. And checkout process was a breeze!

Overall, everyone was very pleased. There was ample room for all, ample bedrooms and bathrooms, plus a prime location in Venice. The apartment was located in a good neighborhood, close to grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, and walking distance to the vaporetto and St. Mark's. Our thanks to Nicoletta!
