Instructions to get into the home were super clear, kitchen is fully stocked for cooking meals, and the living room is super cozy. The bedrooms and beds are amazing as well!

The location was great and the place is very spacious and suited our needs. I rarely rate places less than 5 stars, but in this case, I couldn't give a 5-star rating. Just before we arrived, I was informed by the owner that the previous occupants had left stains on the carpet from their dog and that the carpet would be wet in some places. When we arrived, right off the bat, the front door wouldn't work because the battery was too low on the electronic lock. We entered the code several times and the lock simply beeped at us and flashed a red battery light. Luckily the garage door worked and the door from the garage to the house was left unlocked. I immediately informed the host and heard nothing back. A little after check-in, my kids were playing in their room and found a piece of dog poop and two poop stains next to their beds, which we had to clean up. I took pictures and sent them to the host. Again, I heard nothing back. The entire upstairs smelled like dog urine, likely due to the previous occupants but it wasn't a pleasant situation. I wouldn't have felt compelled to leave a lesser review had my communications via email and VRBO app messaging been acknowledged, but I've only received canned emails and no responses to my concerns. To me, the lack of communication is the biggest issue.
