About this house rental
Moondance is a spacious, 4 bedroom home on the west shores of Seneca Lake. Named for the view of the moon coming up over the lake and dancing on the waters; Moondance is a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
Moondance is along a dead-end lake road, in a small lake front neighborhood, making it a perfect, quiet spot to getaway. The road is a pleasant place to walk and very family friendly. The home has 2 floors, each with their own living space and entry. There is a full kitchen on each floor, but the two living spaces can be used as one as well.
Pulling up to Moondance, you will find see the large English-style stone walkway outside of the house. Walking in the front door, you will enter the spacious entry area. To the left is the formal Dining room and walking through the Dining Room, you'll access the Kitchen. The Kitchen is fully furnished and has all the amenities you'll need for cooking those great family style meals.
Directly inside the entry area, you walk into the Living Room. The Living Room has a wall of glass patio doors that open out onto the deck and overlook the lake. A great space for that indoor/outdoor living feel! The Living room is quite comfortably furnished with leather couches and chairs as well as a giant settee to relax on (the fireplace in the living room is not in working condition and cannot be used). There is a large screen TV in the Living Room as well as a game cabinet.
The main floor Primary bedroom is off of one end of the Living room and is very spacious. The Primary bedroom has a King size bed, an attached bath (with shower) and large glass doors that open out onto the deck. This room has a perfect view of the moon when it rises over the lake or those gorgeous Seneca lake sunrises. You'll want to awaken early enough to see the sunrise!
On the opposite end of the Living Room are Bedrooms 2 & 3. Bedroom 2 has a Queen size bed. Bedroom 3 has a Queen as well and is almost considered a second 'Master bedroom' with it's own private, screened in porch/sitting area. Bedroom 2 and 3 share a full bath with a shower.
On the lower level, you'll find a full second Kitchen, Family Room area, Bedroom 4 and a Full bath. Bedroom 4 has a Queen bed with a full bath right next door to the bedroom. The bath includes a Tub/shower. In the Family room, there is a futon, TV, and a table for playing games. This house is the perfect spot for 2 families or couples to stay if you're wanting to spend time together, but have your own spaces. The upstairs and the lower level can both be self contained with separate outside entrances, and each having a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.
The Lower level opens out onto a small covered patio area which is where you will go to access the lake. From the small patio, you can walk down the stairs to the lake side deck and lakefront. The house has private beach area and a private dock for guest use.
*The fireplaces are both non functioning and guests must refrain from lighting a fire in them
Air conditioning is provided by central air unit
*A limited amount of paper towel, toilet paper, soaps, is provided for each guest.
**We ask that renters to be over the age of 25. By booking you agree with this policy and comply with the request that the renting party is over the age of 25.
**No pets or animals allowed at any time. Anyone found to be in violation, will be asked to leave immediately and/or charged an additional fee
**No parties allowed at any time.
**Smoking prohibited
**Guest must comply with maximum occupancy at all times. No Exceptions. Only 10 guests allowed at any time
**Parking for 4 vehicles ONLY! Please plan your transportation accordingly
**Lake conditions are not guaranteed and are non refundable
**Guests are asked to initial a rental waiver, sent via email, immediately after booking
**DOCKS: A dock is provided, you are solely responsible for ensuring docks, and/or mooring facilities are adequate.
Guest assumes liability for use of the dock and assumes responsibility and liability for damages done to the dock during their stay, whether the damage is done by their watercraft or the guest themselves.
**Seasonal amenities: kayaks and some outdoor furniture are available seasonally and are available for use from mid-May to October

As three couples in their seventies, who have traveled extensively, we were very pleased to be able to find a home available with bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate us all. However, the pictures, online description and reviews were not accurate. The third bathroom was actually in the finished basement. Unfortunately, it was a musty, damp basement. (Not worth a 5***** review!). Also, there was no private, outdoor seating area off the basement.
One couple used the basement bathroom, but no one would spend time in the damp basement.
Please update your reviews and description to inform people what to expect. Also, as stated above, we have vacationed in many houses and this was not a 5***** clean house. We may have left it cleaner than when we arrived!
