Fisherman's Lodge sits on the eastern shore of Lough Corrib — Ireland's largest lake and one of Europe's finest wild brown trout fisheries, set on the Wild Atlantic Way. A spacious, comfortable 3-bedroom home for up to 6 guests, fully equipped and ready from the moment you arrive. Simply bring your groceries and unwind.
Kilbeg Pier — one of the most scenic spots in County Galway — is just a 3-minute walk from the lodge. Spectacular sunsets over the water are a regular feature of an evening stay.
● THE LODGE
A modern, well-appointed home with everything you need for a short break or a longer stay. Fisherman's Lodge is an established favourite for families, couples, and groups seeking a quality base in the west of Ireland.
● KITCHEN & LIVING
Cosy living room with Smart TV, Netflix, and direct garden access. Fully equipped kitchen — gas hob, electric oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, and dishwasher. Dining table seats the full group. Free WiFi throughout (25 Mbps).
● BEDROOMS
Three comfortable bedrooms sleep up to 6:
— Main bedroom: king bed, en-suite shower room, wardrobe
— Twin room: two single beds, wardrobe
— Double room: double bed, wardrobe
Fresh bed linen provided for every stay.
● BATHROOMS
En-suite shower room off the main bedroom. Second bathroom with walk-in shower on the upper hall.
Fresh towels provided for all guests.
● UTILITY
Full free laundry facilities — 10 kg washing machine and
condenser dryer. Ideal for longer stays.
● OUTSIDE
Step out from the living room into the spacious gardens at Kilbeg Pier — 1.5 acres of open ground with outside dining, outdoor furniture, and goal posts for the kids. A 3-minute walk takes you to Kilbeg Pier on the shore of Lough Corrib. Free private parking on-site. Shared EV (Type 2) charger available on request.

Board games, Lego, high chair, and travel cot available for families travelling with young children.

● GETTING HERE
A car is required. Headford town is 10 minutes drive, Galway City 30 minutes. For those without a car, Headford (6 km) has a regular Bus Éireann and Burkes Bus service to Galway City.

A lively university city with great restaurants, traditional
pubs, live music, and independent shops. The Latin Quarter, Salthill promenade, and Claddagh village are all worth exploring.
● CONNEMARA (45 mins)
Connemara National Park, the Sky Road, and the scenic town of Clifden are all within easy reach. Kylemore Abbey is approximately 90 minutes away.
● ASHFORD CASTLE & CONG (22 km)
One of Ireland's finest five-star hotels on the shores of
Lough Corrib. The village of Cong is famous as the filming location of The Quiet Man.
● CLIFFS OF MOHER & THE BURREN (2 hrs)
Ireland's most visited natural attraction — dramatic
214-metre cliffs on the Wild Atlantic Way.
● ARAN ISLANDS (approx 2 hrs via Rossaveal ferry)
One of the great day trips from the west of Ireland. Inis Mór offers prehistoric forts, cycling, and traditional island life.
● WESTPORT & CROAGH PATRICK (1 hr 15 mins)
A vibrant Mayo town with excellent restaurants. Croagh Patrick — Ireland's holy mountain — is nearby. The scenic drive back via the Killary fjord is spectacular.
● ROSS ERRILLY FRIARY (8 km)
One of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in Ireland, founded in 1349.
● FOOD & DRINK LOCALLY
Campbells Tavern — 10 minutes — is a local favourite for traditional Irish music sessions. Headford town has several good options including the Anglers Rest and the Thatch Bar.

Headford (10 mins) has a large Tesco and full range of

We arrived to a whimsically decorated lodge in a serene setting close to the lake. Neil was a terrific host, readily accessible, and attentive to our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas stay and hope to return in the future!Thank you, Neil, for the added Christmas decor to make our Christmas away from home spectacular!

Being near the lake, this lodging had a lot of humidity inside. It was a blessing to have nice hot water, good water pressure, and control of the room thermostat. It was also an added benefit to have a modem to enjoy streaming tv. We met Neil and he had some helpful suggestions for driving in the area

A somewhat isolated location surrounded by pastures and located within day trip range of a number a great locations. The host went above and beyond to offer assistance with any questions and to provide information about the area. All the basics provided in the kitchen to do simple meal preparations.
