About this cabin rental
Our cozy open floor plan with 2 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin with a loft offers room for the family or friends to spread out while enjoying the mountainous view overlooking Watauga Lake.

-Queen Beds - 1 in each of the bedrooms (1 bedroom has on suite bath) - new mattresses January 2024

-Linens, towels, bedding provided
Entertainment in Cabin:
-Cable TV: Hulu connected to 48' LCD TV
-TV's located in both bedrooms - Hulu provided
-Games: Foosball Table and Board games located in loft
Kitchen:
-Full Kitchen: located on main floor, fully equipped including all standard appliances, dishwasher, microwave & coffee maker.
-Cooking Utensils: Standard pots/pans and utensils provided
-Dining Table - Seats 6 comfortable
Outdoor Features of Lake Cabin:
-Gas BBQ Grill on deck of cabin overlooking lake
-Decks - 2 on main floor
-One Canoe is available for your use during your stay. Canoes must be removed from the lake at the end of your stay and return to the canoe storage. Failure to do so will result in a $125 fee.

-WiFi: Throughout cabin

Rental Policies:
-Pet Friendly with paid PET FEE: one small well-behaved, housebroken dog without fleas or ticks are welcome; clean up after your pet outside; dog must be leashed when outside and crated if left unattended in the cabin - reach out if you are desiring to add an additional small dog. There is a non-refundable pet fee for one dog. No other pets are permitted.
-Kid Friendly: kids are welcome at the lake cabin, but must be accompanied by adults outside at all times due to heights and steepness
-Minimum Age Limit for Renters: 25 years old - no exceptions
-Fire Pit - please use at your own risk. Firewood is not provided. The Watauga Lake Mercantile sales wood - about 3 miles from the cabin. Call prior to your trip for availability.
-The fireplace gas has not been turned on since the weather has been unseasonable warm. -Smoking: Not allowed inside Lake Cabin (smoke outside & enjoy the scenic view)
-Parking lot camera - no indoor camera.
-Garage is not included in the rental and there is no access from the garage to the rental area. This is used for owner storage. -Early Arrivals: depending on turnover and other scheduled visits, we will do our best to accommodate - noon check-ins will result in a $75 fee due to expediting turnover services.
-Late check-outs: depending on turnover and other scheduled visits, we will do our best to accommodate - noon check-outs will result in a fee due to expediting turnover services.
-Please take rental insurance that is offered at the renters expense.
Watauga Lake Recreation:
This beautiful lake is located across the Western North Carolina state line in Eastern Tennessee. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway on the lake, we invite you to take a look at our recently built cabin. More than half of Watauga Lake's shoreline lies within the Cherokee National Forest and cannot be developed. Recreational uses include boating, fishing, water-skiing, and camping. There is no horsepower limit or speed limit for boats operating on the lake. Several fee-based public and private boat launch ramps provide access on the Hampton side of the reservoir.

Amenities were nice, cabin was clean. The microwave stopped working after the first use, and could not be fixed, so we weren’t able to use some of the food we brought. The hot tub stopped working after the first night, but it was fixed by the next day. All in all, a good trip for our family.

We had a fun weekend at the overlook. It had a nice view and we also got a few inches of snow. The cabin is arranged very nicely. There is plenty of room for six people. This is a great place for two couples. Although I was turned off by the abrupt communication from the owners at first, the check in process is easy. Please note that the only way into the home is a set of steep stairs. Consider this if you have an older person coming with you. Also, the bedrooms are cold at night when the doors are shut even though the thermostat is at 75. For shopping or your personal needs, we brought everything with us, but there is a dollar general 15 minutes the house, and a drive into town for a grocery store, fast food, Walgreens, and a few small shops. It is 20 to 30 minutes, depending on your vehicle on the weather. The drive was pretty in the snow. I recommend a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
