Nieder-Erlenbach has retained its rural character for over 1200 years and the incorporation into Frankfurt in 1972 has not changed that much. Although new single-family residential areas have emerged on both sides of the Erlenbach in recent years, the particularly beautifully preserved village center, the Wasserschloss Glauburg and the former Charlottenburg Palace still give Nieder-Erlenbach historical flair.
