Great view, disappointing hygiene and communication

The view from the master bedroom was absolutely perfect.

Unfortunately, there were several serious issues during our stay. The dishwasher was not working (we were told it had been damaged by a previous guest). That in itself would not have been a major issue, but despite knowing this, the apartment did not provide dish towels or a drying rack. There was only one small sponge for the entire stay. Overall, there were very limited cleaning supplies available, which is problematic in an apartment without regular housekeeping. The shower drain was clogged, and water would not drain properly. Within minutes, water spread across the entire bathroom floor. The most serious issue was the bed. The mattress protector underneath the sheets was heavily stained and smelled strongly of urine. This is a major hygiene concern. The way this was handled was disappointing. The mattress protector and duvet were replaced, but we were not provided with clean duvet covers or proper bedding. Instead, we were told that sleeping without a duvet cover is normal and that cleaning would come the next day to resolve everything. In the end, we had to resolve the situation ourselves and therefore canceled the scheduled cleaning. Some necessary items were eventually delivered, but this required repeated requests. I imagine a holiday differently than having to ask for basic essentials. The biggest disappointment, however, was the attitude of the host. At no point did we receive an apology for the inconvenience. Instead, when we reported the dirty, urine-smelling bed, the response suggested that we were implying they do not care about cleanliness. I will attach photos so that future guests can judge for themselves.

The location is amazing with a beautiful view from the bedroom. The host was quick to respond to all queries and accommodative to our requests.

The dish washer was not working, upon asking about it the owner had informed us that it was broken. It was not mentioned to us before we booked the property which was inconvenient. There was limited crockery in the kitchen (especially compared to the no. of guests that the apartment claimed to accommodate -7). The pull sofa was not that comfortable to sleep in (the house comfortably accommodates max 6ppl only). I do not have a good idea about renting in Dubai but usually in other places cleaning service is available during the stay (especially during long stays), but there was no cleaning service available during our stay of 7 days and with the weather in Dubai (sandstorms) it was inconvenient.
