Central Brecon Apartment

The location was perfect for us as it was a short walk away from an event we attended. The bed was comfortable and it has enough space to accommodate a family of 5 with the sofa bed . It had everything we needed as a base , it isn’t perfect in terms of the level of decorating finish to things like plaster and tiling and but it was clean and comfortable .No complaints

The entrance area is quite off putting - old vehicles and bins by a large garage- it needs a bit of attention to the entrance flooring - maybe put some gravel down to tidy it up a bit , the courtyard you can see from the kitchen and bedroom also needs a good clean but as we were only staying for one night it didn’t bother us . The only other thing that can be a bit of an issue is the lack of mobile phone service you get in there due to the thick walls and there is no WiFi which I feel should be offered as there is clearly WiFi there.

It was spacious and well furnished with mostly new stylish furniture. Well equipped kitchen and smart tv. The central location is good for exploring the town. Overall I would say the property owners have made a good job of a difficult basement property with little natural light but a little more attention to cleaning the specific areas I mentioned would really bring the rating up to 7 or 8.

The property was mostly clean but the shower was mouldy which is easily remedied with a good bleaching. The toilet was very limescaled which again could be sorted without too much difficulty. When we pulled out the sofa to make the bed it was dirty behind. These are things which are easily fixable and as we were only staying one night it wasn’t a massive issue. The outside area is the other problem. It is really run down and there was dog poo here and there but as it’s a communal area I’m not sure how you’d fix this. We had a problem parking when we returned from an evening out as someone from the pub had taken our space. I asked him to move the car which he did but I was verbally abused by his friends (I realised after that it’s not a private space). Great for a short one or two night stay. Wouldn’t stay longer due to the outside area and parking issues.
