Compact and Comfy Apartment on the Greenhill

Property is in a lovely location, nice quiet neighbourhood. We really liked that there was specific quiet hours. The location was good you were only a bus away from many things, the bus stop is about a 5-10 minute walk, and there is supermarkets close by. The property had everything we needed in, clean towels amongst other things.

Like said above we had a lot to like about the property, but when we walked in it smelt damp? The shower we had a real nightmare. The drain seems to be blocked really bad, and so when showering we found in one instance the whole thing overflowed into the bedroom area and we had wet things and so I would say this is something that needs looking at quite urgently as it really put us off showering. We stripped the bed to help the host as we do with everywhere we go, but found stains on the mattress protector and duvet which wasn’t a pleasant find.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need cutlery, pots, and basic cookware were all provided and in good, usable condition. I was very impressed with how quickly the host responded when the shower drain got blocked. After just one use it filled with water, but the host came promptly to fix the issue, which I really appreciated. I also had some trouble turning on the TV, but I received clear instructions straight away and managed to sort it out quickly. The apartment is warm and comfortable. The layout could be improved, though, as the only place to watch TV is from the sofa by the entrance, which is unfortunately very dirty and heavily stained. The bed is cosy and comfortable. Even though the flat is on a main road, noise wasn’t a big issue the host thoughtfully provides earplugs. The apartment is easy to find, and the self check-in instructions were excellent. One small suggestion would be to improve the outside lighting, as it was quite hard to see clearly when arriving in the evening.

Overall, the apartment has a lot going for it the space is comfortable and well located but the cleanliness of the bathroom and some common areas really needs attention. The shower clearly needs a deep clean: the grout between the tiles is yellowed and even brown in places, and the metal soap holder is heavily rusted. The back of the toilet was visibly dirty, which is not something guests should ever encounter. These weren’t things I had to go looking for they were immediately noticeable and unpleasant. In the kitchen, the dish drying rack was covered in limescale, which made me uncomfortable putting clean dishes on it. Near the entrance, the sofa/bench is heavily stained and looked so unhygienic that I didn’t want to sit on it at all. Shower curtain needs changing or washing as well. With a proper deep clean of the bathroom and some professional cleaning or replacement of furniture, this could be a really great place. Right now, though, the lack of cleanliness takes away from what is otherwise a nice apartment.
