I really liked the traditional Japanese feel to the house. It is located between Kyoto station and Nishiki market. You can walk 15 minutes or take a bus nearby. The traditional bath tub (Onsen like) is wonderful and has a view on the little Japanese garden. Fully equipped kitchen and welcome gifts like sake and local food. Washing and drying machine was very convenient.
I understand they probably want to keep it very Japanese style, but I would've like to have a couch or bean bags to sit and relax during the evening while kids were sleeping. We were there 5 nights and we spent the whole time at the kitchen table as laying on the tatami was not really comfortable for us.
