Good overnight stay in Cherbourg, very convenient coming from Bayeux.

Location good, we were going to the port. Convenient for shopping centre. We needed a room on the ground floor due to mobility issues, the receptionist kindly gave us a room near entrance which we appreciate very much. As we had some time before getting evening ferry we visited Château de Ravalet, magnificent gardens, in Tourlaville about 20 mins from hotel. Satnav brought us across country roads so go through town to this castle.

One night in the Ibis

I stayed one night on my way to Geneva by motorbike. The Brittany Rosslare -Cherbourg ferry had arrived too late to go on. Staff was friendly and welcoming with good English as my French hadn't come online enough yet. Clean and pleasant room with a good TV . Enjoyed a few YouTube videos and slept well. Left late avoiding the rain that had swept through in the breakfast hours. Can recommend!

The location is in easy driving distance of the city, good parking

Disorganised and chaotic, poor food in the evening and at breakfast all food was uncovered encouraging contamination. The restaurant did not accommodate any vegetarian options apart from a humus starter

strange co location arrangment with the IBIS budget hotel which was in the same building but it had a sepearte entrance but seemed to share the restaurant. Wondered why we paid the higher rates for a room in the same building when we could have stayed in the same building for less and availed of the same services. Bizarre!

Loved the hotel. We had actually mixed up our dates and we were booked into the budget Ibis next door, for the following day. But booked into this Ibis, explained the situation,. So had 1 night in the red Ibis (lovely) and the second night in the budget Ibis. Both good,but I prefer the Red Ibis. Bigger rooms, extra pillows, a kettle and coffee...

Stunning property, lovely rooms, warm and welcoming hosts - what more could you ask for...?

This is a stunning property in a lovely location that has been beautifully renovated and maintained by the host who, along with his family, are exceptionally warm and welcoming. When we ate there we were the only English people staying, and the owners made an effort to keep us involved in the conversation. The food was homecooked and lovely, and we were treated to some of the local wines and produce as well. Truly a great place to relax and unwind

Expecting garaged parking - none. Only private parking, locked gates overnight. Expecting ground floor room as we had dog - none available.
