    It ended up being a little further from everything then I thought, bed is hard, but very clean, staff is very friendly, all the amenities I need.

    If you want a hotel in the heart of Gion, the location is great. Keep in mind however, it is further from public transportation such as kyoto station or metro lines. Many restaurants, shopping malls, activities are however on the other side of the river, it is about a 15-20 mins walk. But if you want to stay in Gion area it is great to enjoy the beauty of the city when the hustle and bustle settles down. Hotel room is ok! Very clean and tidy, but expect what you pay for. The sink was extremely short. I am 5 foot 2 and the sink arrived above my knees. Bathroom is also tiny. The rest is fine!
