yoin hotel kyoto gion

Great little boutique hotel just a 2 minute walk from the main shopping area of Gion. Very modern and large room. Laundry room if needed. Staff extremely helpful, although some of them struggled with English (in hotels I think this is a necessary skill worldwide unfortunately). Close access to trains and bus routes and walkable to river and lots of restaurants closeby. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

the location although good was a little seedy and not much to do at night locally

Standard twin room was great, very spacious and clean. Shower room was exceptional, large and great water pressure. Location of this hotel is very convenient to Gion old town area. Laundry facilities enhanced our great stay!

Great location and lovely room.

Lack of controllable air con. The AC is controlled by the hotel centrally. You could adjust the fan and air purifier but room remained stuffy and disturbed sleep. Welcome was rather stale with long list of additional charges payable for late check out/cleaning. Advised there was building work going on - would normally be told in advance. Hotel bar closed for duration and looked like it had never opened. Just not the Japanese welcome we received everywhere else we stayed Advised cleaning only infrequent for environmental reasons but you could have your towels changed daily. Made no sense.
