Elegant 2bd apartment next to Old Town Riga

This apartment is in a great location, in between two nice parks, near bus/tram routes and a few minutes walk into old town. There are lots of windows, plenty of lights and electrical outlets. The large smart TV in the living room works well and the internet is fast and reliable. While the couch is comfortable, the living room wouldn’t be able to accommodate four people. The bedrooms are very large and the beds are comfortable. However, there is no dresser or closet in the main bedroom so there is no place to set things. You have to use the hallway closet or use the ironing board as a table. The kitchen is very usable, good counter space, large fridge and freezer, and basics to cook with like salt/pepper/oil. The appliances work well, though we couldn’t get the stove hood to work. The pods for the coffee maker arent sold in the grocery store, but you can find them at the Stockmann department store. There were ample dishes and pots/pans to cook with. The bathroom is nice, with lots of counter space and storage. It has a new, huge bathtub (it’s not the same one in the photos), and the issue with the shower wand has been fixed, no issues taking a shower (just be careful getting in/out of the tub). Lots of hot water and good water pressure. The washer/dryer combo was nice to have.

Other reviews talk about the bad entrance stairs and they are right! Thank goodness it’s only 1 flight. If you have mobility issues, heavy luggage or a baby stroller, this apartment isnt for you. It looks like the entire building is going through a major remodel and construction starts at 8am. The apartment sits above a newly opened Kebab restaurant and the smell of cooking meat at times is nauseating. But it’s better than the pot smoke that fills the apartment most evenings. Bring earplugs, as the motorcycles like to race at night. The apartment could be a 10, but the combination of construction and smells makes it difficult to enjoy this great apartment.

The location of the fiat is great is in the middle of everything! Big flat well equipped! Generally quite!

The entrance of the building is very bad ! The staircase is very steep and poorly built, the lighting is inadequate and on the first floor where the apartment is, the outside light did not come on at all. In general, as nice as the apartment is inside, the entrance is as ugly as it is. I understand that these are old apartment buildings. We just believe that with very small expenses, they can be made better by simply painting and installing very good lighting.
