K1820 Family apartments

The close proximity and the nice, homey atmosphere!

A microwave would be nice! And maybe make the pillows a little longer or bigger.

Loved this apartment for our second stay in Riga. We travel a lot and we found the apartment was even nicer than we expected in a lovely restored building. The instructions were stellar with photos that made everything clear. (Seriously great instructions.) Hosts were responsive. If you are visiting Riga to see the historic Old Town this location is ideal. It's close to the main attractions, parks, shopping, restaurants, and groceries. It was an easy walk from the central train station (some cobblestones, but not too far a walk). The apartment was set back enough from the street that it was quiet. Bed was on the firm side but comfortable to us. Furniture/couch was comfortable. The kitchenette was small but adequate for our stay. An assortment of teas and coffee pods were available. Bathroom was clean, water pressure was OK, and we liked having a washer. (We didn't use the dryer, but saw that as an option.) Internet speed was very fast and reliable. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised and would recommend this apartment. Hope to return!

We would have loved a microwave, though we know space in the kitchen is limited. No closet to speak of but there are some open shelves and a place to hang a few things. We would have liked a different pillows but the ones that were there were OK. These are minor points in what was overall a wonderful stay.

Perfect location and great service and communication with hosts. Property was clean and had everything we needed for a short break.

Rather small bathroom sink making it hard to use without wetting the floor!

The apartment is very spacious with good sized beds and bedrooms, a good shower which worked with no issues and plenty of bathroom space (although the only shower/bath is off one of the bedrooms).. The location is good for access to the old town and 10 minute walk to the train station. The entrance and lift are well maintained and access is easy. The management are responsive, sent the details in advance and communicated quickly when contacted. We were able to store our bags there before check-in which was really useful.

Glass doors on bedrooms: Two bedrooms face each other with glass doors and no curtains! This is a very weird setup for an apartment. Putting up some curtains would seem an easy thing to do as most people do not want to see someone else in bed. Noise: As a 1900s property with wooden floors, noise travels between apartments. Unfortunately a party moved in above us who played amplified music which resonated throughout our living space. Even though we asked them to turn it down, and so did the management, it was still really obvious and ruined the peace we had enjoyed up until that point - we had to leave the apartment to avoid them. These apartments are large and accommodate lots of people so there is a chance you will have a noisy group above or below you. Maintenance: The apartment could do with some maintenance to fix up the broken electrical sockets, remove the visible screws in the walls, and fix the marks on the floors These just make the place a bit more tired than it needs to be as otherwise it is lovely.
