Edale - Loft with a view

Perfect location for a great hiking weekend, property felt very adequate for what we needed and we loved its quirky nature with it being a loft style place. Location was perfect for our hike which made everything much easier logistically.

There were a few minor issues with blinds & door knobs but we were made aware so this was no problem

The location is excellent for accessing walks and for exploring the area by train or bus. There are 2 great pubs and cafes in the village. The Loft was quiet, warm and comfortable with excellent views. It was well equipped.

The house is in need of a deep clean. Cobwebs everywhere, black mould in the bathrooms. Some repairs and maintenance needed: extractor fans not working, door knob fell off, blinds not working....

The layout was really nice. Very cosy. I loved the views - wow! It just felt like a home and was really comfy. I would definitely stay again.

The Loft itself as a property was stunning. Lots of natural light, gorgeous lounge area overlooking areas of natural beauty. The cleanliness was awful considering the price tag of £540 for 3 nights (which is inclusive of a £40 cleaning fee!). Cobwebs and spiders in all bedrooms, hallways and bathrooms. Both bathrooms had black mould around the sealant and no provision of shampoo/soap at all. Had I been staying at a hotel for this price there would certainly have been both of those products provided. The belfast kitchen sink was giving off a mouldy, rotten smell which we found out was a collection of beans/washing up detritus that had accumulated in the gap to the right hand side of the sink. This was a really disappointing stay for us, all the more disappointing as we were celebrating my partner's birthday and ended up leaving one night early out of discomfort. The 'super king' bed was, in reality, two 3/4 size beds pushed together with a sheet over the divide with one of the 3/4s making a shrill squeaking noise with the slightest of movements during the night. A partial refund will certainly be sought.
