Host & Stay - Beamish Museum Cottages

Location in the museum site was fabulous. Free direct access to the site was included. Cottage was so quirky and period - it was so different and a real experience. The site staff were so pleased when they heard that we were in the cottages.

If you don't expect every 21st century facility, then you will love this cottage. The track to the cottage from the main entrance is a little rough - perhaps not ideal for low slung cars.

Amazing location. Beautiful cottage. Very peaceful. Wonderful views. Great for visiting Beamish and Durham city. Really comfy bed and loved the bath. Very clean.

Sofa not comfy. Dustbin needs a lid. Plates chipped. Mugs for tea could be better…felt china was a very mismatched assortment of left overs.. Need a scourer. Have paid much less for a cottage and found a welcome tray of milk etc. Could really do with a welcome book with maps and instructions. Wi-Fi wasn’t great for finding out things.

The location was perfect for visiting Beamish Museum. A gate from the garden and you're there! The cottage was furnished in keeping with the museum area it is located in- but with modern facilities.

Lovely concept.Enjoyed two days touring museum site after not visiting for a long time.Great new areas. Property was spotless.

Roped off road at entrance made access difficult .A very poor,deep potholed road leading to property was quite concerning even in a vehicle with high clearance.A particular issue on exit from property after heavy night's rain.We wouldn't have wanted to leave site at night. Uncomfortable seating and bed.More thought needs giving to this.Some issues eg loose toilet seat and need to check carpet and handrail fixings. Close proximity to bin area.Large gap around front door. Dealing with agency rather than museum staff.Agency were responsive online.Museum staff spoken to were sometimes not very personable. A paper based map of museum etc in property would have been helpful.
