Ocean- AIR VILLA

The house is located on a hill, with a view of the sea. Well-equipped kitchen with pots, pans, cups and utensils necessary for self catering; perfectly clean white towels and sheets. The washing machine came in very handy. AC worked well, and hot water was available without any hiccups. The house has a lovely terrace for meals with a view. It's a short walk to the beach, though the path is steep in places so it may not be suitable for everyone (it was no problem for a five-year old). The beach is beautiful, the water was extremely clean, with a shallow and sandy bottom for long (after a few metres of rocks) and small fish are swimming at the shore. There is one taverna on the beach, next to the Elani Bay hotel, but we did not eat there. The host was very responsive on WhatsApp when we needed any additional information.

We had a great time and have no complaints, but there are some things to plan for or be aware of. It's not a serviced hotel, it's a vacation rental, so it comes with a lot of self organisation. There is nothing around, so a car is needed for dining in the nearby town (Siviri) or shopping. The walk to the nearby town is 1.6-2 km depending on the route but it was very hot so I would not recommend that. The plus side is that it's really a quiet and relaxing place. No flushing toilet paper down the toilet, bins provided. This is weird for some people, but it's a general infrastructure thing so nothing to do with the house itself.
