Elegant place to stay ticked all our boxes!

Great location we had a wedding over the road, perfect for us to get ready no need for Taxi as we could walk. Idea as we have family in Duleek & Ashbourne. It was lovely & quite beautiful outside & surrounding area! Lovely gates leading into property felt safe excellent security

Property not lit up we drove past a couple of times, missing it - also single mattress needs changing the springs were poking into my back & it made a noise every time you turned I had to sleep on sofa 2nd night my back was in bits

It was short, frustrating and a disappointing end to a perfect visit to Ireland.

It was a beautiful property located in a gated area. Clean and well stocked in comparison to other properties we rented during our stay in Ireland. The back gardens were beautifully landscaped and given a longer stay, would have been lovely to enjoy tea and breakfast in the mornings.

Right upon arrival we discovered problems with the facilities (heat, toilets, showers and hot water}. No instructions were provided in the house, explaining how the heat turned on, what wall switch had to be turned on to run the bathroom shower, or even that a specific switch was needed to be left on, in order to heat the hot water throughout the house. The flush mechanisim in the master bathroom was constantly running, making it hard to properly flush the toilet. We contacted the host who tried to assist us over WhatsApp, but even following his instuctions and his claim that the hot water would heat up in 15 mins, we waited an hour but the water never heated up for anyone to take showers. We were only at this property one night before flying home, so there was no time to properly have these issues resolved. Given that we were charged 340 Euro for a one night stay, and that we had to contact the host asking for instructions on how to access the house, and we notified the host of our expected arrival of around 6pm, we did not expect to encounter these problems. There was still no hot water when we woke up at 4am the next morning. We were gone by 5am to drive to the airport to catch our flights. I later contacted the host and respectfully asked that he consider compensating us for the issues we encountered. He denied my request and claimed that their cleaning staff had confirmed the hot water was warm prior to our check-in. Now I am reaching out to Booking.com for some resolution.

Description of where the keys to the house “ back of the door” didn’t really reflect where the keys where. Not a big issue. TV didn’t have any channels which may be an issue if there were kids but we lived the location

Wonderful place to rent- great service and lovely accommodation.

Beautiful old restored courtyard cottages. V efficient entry with lock box. Coffee pods, tea bags etc supplied in kitchen. Nice private patio area w lovely mature garden. One of our children left her AirPods behind and Balrath sent them back to us by registered post. We were going to a wedding nearby and they also gave us taxi nos to contact.

Lovely place, easy access, peaceful and beautiful location. Frances, the owner, is very friendly and was helpful re last minute arrangements for a late checkout. I think would be an ideal place for a large family group to book multiple of the houses in the courtyard. I’d be delighted to go back.

Couldn't recommend Balrath Courtyard enough! We met Francis who was a lovely woman who welcomed us to our cottage and gardens. The property was clean, comfortable and exceeded expectations. We stayed for a wedding near by, but will be back for a longer stay in the future 😊 Thanks again

Beautiful property in Meath, I stayed for one night and the property was so lovely with beautiful gardens! Well worth a visit! Dermot was so attentive and kind whenever I had a question about anything with the house (or if I needed more towels!). It’s a nice and quiet area as well so definitely a good place to relax for the weekend.

Ideal stay when visiting this area

We stayed here for a night while visiting Tayto Park. Very nice cottages with secure parking. Had all the necessities one needs and Dermot was very accommodating; clean rooms, good shower, WiFi and a smart TV, even had a washing machine if needed. I'd highly recommend a stay here and if we're ever back we'll definitely stay. Thanks again

Excellent location amid tranquil surrounding

If travelling to/from Scotland to the South or West of Ireland, Balrath is a perfect place to stay to break the journey. It is not far from the M1 and close to the N2 for a short journey to/from Dublin on the N2 but feels like in the countryside with lovely gardens. It is also not far from Newgrange and Battle of the Boyne sites which are well worth visiting.

The garden was very beautiful and the variety of plants was a pleasure to see. The property has a lot of land where you could just spend the day there without going into town. You can wander into open meadows, an apple orchard, and a veggie garden that adults and children alike will enjoy. The mid century home was up to date with amenities and exceptionally clean.
