We were blown away by how clean and comfortable we were. We only stayed one night and pretty much showered, slept and left.
The shower and bathrooms were amazing.
The bedding and pillows I wanted to take home with me! (I didnt 😆)
Peacocks 🦚 around the grounds. Chickens.
The one and ONLY negative I have is that our bed (in the room with no ensuite) was creaky. Everytime you moved it creaked.
We were so tired after arriving very late that we still fell asleep and slept well until we had to get up early and leave. (Again amazing pillows)
However had we been staying longer and had more time to relax I feel that would have been a problem and could possibly have ruined our sleeping experience.

The soft furnishing, the powerful shower, the decor and the entrance was a lovely surprise with the codes
Would have preferred the second bedroom to be a twin bed, and we didn’t have an toiletries in the en-suite

This is a large, grand apartment in a huge 1735 country house. The fixtures and fittings are quite new and top quality. Lovely views from the windows. Very comfortable beds. The kitchen area has everything that might be needed. A big, good quality TV, but only running internet and catch up TV because the TV signal is poor. Excellent wifi. The shower cubicles are big and the showers are powerful with plenty of hot water, and big, thick, heavy, luxury grade towels. Heating is via radiators and the apartment was toasty warm. An interesting addition for bird lovers was the pair of peafowl roosting on the window ledges at night. The décor is recent, well thought out, and appropriate for the age of the building. Fans of William Morris type designed wallpaper will be pleased. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay.
This did not apply to us, but anyone who has difficulty with stairs should be aware that there are four flights up to the apartment, which may cause problems for people with mobility issues.

Opportunity to stay in a Hall, that I have known for most of my life, which has been skillfully refurbished. Good centre for walking. We did a long circular walk via Hurst, Reeth and Marrick. And a short walk to see the waterwheel upstream from Pillimire Bridge. We liked the resident peacock.
There are no pubs within easy walking distance if you want one. Feldom Range was closed for army exercises which limited our exploration to the north of Marske.
